Got a couple of calls from this number, sounded pretty intimidating. I can imagine how folks who are more vulnerable might end up getting caught out by it. I’ve gone ahead and blocked it now. Best not to answer or engage.

Got a call that supposedly came from HMRC but it was clearly a scam. Totally automated voice - I wouldn’t respond if I were you!

Got a call from 01392681097, ended up on my landline. Total rip-off I reckon. They left a voicemail saying I’m in some kinda mess and needed to give my solicitor’s details. I called back and they were asking for some reference code, which I had no clue about. Then they tried to get my National Insurance number from me, but I just refused and told them I’d deal with it in court. It was a guy with an Indian accent, and he just dropped the call pretty quick after that.

This morning I got a call from someone saying he was Officer Anthony Clarke, sounded like he had an Indian accent. He claimed I owed nearly £2900 in unpaid tax and threatened that if I didn’t pay immediately, I’d be hauled off to "the courthouse". I told him to do what he had to and just ended the call. Later today, the same number left another scary voicemail. I’m not replying to any of it!

Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC. They were pretty intimidating, trying to scare me into paying supposed tax debts and asking for my personal info. It sounded very convincing, but I know HMRC never calls people out of the blue - they always send letters instead. Definitely a dodgy scam to watch out for.

Beware, this number's a scam pretending to be HMRC! They've tried ringing me a few times recently, but since I didn't know the number, I just let it go to voicemail. They've left a couple of messages warning me about legal trouble if I don’t respond. I called HMRC myself today just to check, and they said it’s definitely a scam. They told me not to ring back or press any buttons if I happen to pick up.

I got a message saying it was from hmrc telling me to ring them back straight away or else I'd be facing court. When I phoned them back and asked which office they were in, the person just cut me off. Tried calling again and asked the very same question, but once more they just ended the call. Pretty clear it's a scam if you ask me.

i got a recorded message claiming to be from hmrc customs warning me to ring back fast or id face legal action. since it was a landline i thought id check it out. when i called, a guy with an indian accent answered, saying he was from hmrc and asked for my name. i refused and told him this couldn't be hmrc's number. he asked how i knew, i said i'd looked it up online. then he yelled "shut up" and cut the call. 100% a scam.

Got a call from a robotic voice claiming to be from HMRC customs, saying I had to ring them straight away or I’d face legal action. It was on my landline, so I called back. An Indian chap picked up and greeted me like he was from HMRC, then asked for my name. I refused to give it and told him this wasn’t an official HMRC number. He went “how do you know?” and I said “I checked online.” He then started yelling “shut up” and disconnected. Definitely a scam, no doubt about it.
