this bloke told me he was with openreach when he rang up.

Not sure who was calling but I could hear them chatting away, though not a single word was clear. Really strange!

So I picked up the phone, and all this bloke did was keep saying “hello” over and over. I just ended up hanging up and decided to check here to see what it might be about.

I've been rung up by this number a couple of times now. They claimed to be from BT and asked me to turn on my laptop, also wanting to know what I use my phone for. Just ignore them and never share any details!
