Somebody called me, said they wanted to chat about the cavity wall insulation in my place. I asked how they knew, and they claimed to have some sort of industry database. Problem is, I don't even have cavity wall insulation. Then they just hung up on me.

EMCAS (EMC Advisory Services) called me a few times so I finally picked up. The guy was really polite and explained why he was ringing. I told him I’m not interested and don’t usually do cold calls, but after chatting for a bit realised their service wasn’t for me anyway. He promised to take my number off their list and they haven’t called back since. Definitely one of the most pleasant cold calls I’ve had. Plus, some mates have used them and said the whole experience was top-notch. Up to you if you want to pick up, but I’ve had zero problems with them! - Marco.

Could it possibly be down to Vodafone? Since I signed a contract with them, I've been inundated with unwanted calls like never before. A couple of my mates who've jumped ship to their service have said the very same thing. Once my contract is up, I’m definitely off! There really ought to be legislation prohibiting the sale of phone numbers and all this cold calling nonsense.

Got a call this morning from 01392 353110. Looked it up and found out it was about PPI claims or something like that, so I blocked the number straight away. Then the same number rang me again this evening, but it was dead silent when I picked up. Pretty sure it’s the same firm just using different numbers. Ended up blocking it again.
