They were calling looking for someone called Mr Higginbottom. From past experience, I’m sure it’s one of those timeshare firms trying the same dodgy trick (definitely not us). The lady on the phone had a posh English accent, sounded older too. I wasn’t having any of it this time and gave them a quick brush off.

I got a ring from a bloke called John claiming he was doing a survey about covid and travel. He mentioned some place in Exeter, said it was a covid travel health support line with the number 01392243151. The survey supposedly was about timeshares, hotels and tour operators, gathering some stats. Basically, he just asked how I felt about travelling in the future.

Got a call claiming to be from some gov survey about travel and covid, but it was a load of rubbish. The bloke kept going on about timeshares and stuff like that, pretending it was all about travel safety. Eventually, he just started making no sense at all. I just ended the call.

Someone called me claiming to be Glen from a company called Themis Resolution. He was talking about Diamond Resorts being taken over and said US owners were having to pay loads to switch over to the Hilton Holiday group, who, apparently, bought Diamond. The website he mentioned is real but the number he used didn’t match what’s on there. Glen seemed pretty genuine but I had a bad feeling about it. Ended up hanging up and told him I’d check everything out properly before speaking again. Watch out if you get a call from this number!

Got a call from a woman claiming she was from some watchdog group dealing with timeshares. I told her we don’t have one anymore. She got quite nasty, saying I should have documents to back it up (which I do) and demanded I send them a copy. I told her to remove our phone number from their list and to stop calling us.
