11/4/2016 got a text saying someone was coming to take my house at 8.30 on Sat 5/11/2016. I called my mortgage company, the Northumbria police, and then reported it to the fraud team. I knew it was a scam but freaks me out thinkin’ people who aren’t as lucky might get scared by a text like that. Hope they catch whoever’s behind it.

Got a call earlier from someone claiming to be HMRC, saying they're taking me to court. They told me to press 1 to hear more. When I did, a person came on asking for my National Insurance number. I asked for his name, but he just repeated asking for my NI number. When I asked for some proof he was legit, he just ended the call.

I received a voicemail instructing me to ring this number, 01392243051, urgently as the HMRC is supposedly launching legal action against me. It's rather concerning!

Got a call from a guy with a strong Indian accent saying there’s a warrant for my arrest, honestly really scary if you’re on your own. I’m proper angry about it. The police should seriously get in touch with this number.

Got a call claiming I was being taken to court by HMRC, then they just hung up when I got a bit uneasy. Don’t waste your time reporting it to Action Fraud UK, might as well chat to a brick wall. I rang the number back and a recorded message said Action Fraud UK had shut down that service. Serious? They tried to ring me? I’ve already told the police about it.

Got a call this morning from an Indian woman around 9:55am saying HMRC was taking legal action against me and I’d end up in jail. She also kept insisting the call was being recorded to use as evidence. It sounded dodgy to me, so I just said, "Alright then, thanks for letting me know," all polite-like. After a few seconds of silence, she just dropped the call. I’m going to report this to the police and hope others do too.

On the 17th of June, I got a voicemail saying HMRC was about to take me to court and told me to either press 1 or call 01392243051. I didn't call that number though. Instead, I rang the genuine HMRC contact, and they confirmed it was a scam. Apparently, if you ring the number back, it's a costly premium rate line. So, seriously, don’t press 1 or return the call!

Just like mentioned before, HMRC should already have all our address details, so they'd probably get in touch that way. That number might be a premium line charging about £5 per call, so I'd avoid calling it back or hitting any buttons!

Got a voicemail from someone claiming to be HMRC, wanting a call back on 01392243051. It didn’t feel right at all. Definitely wouldn’t expect them to handle things this way. Phew, I rang them up just to check. I’m also going to let our accountant know about this.

Got a voicemail saying HMRC's taking legal action against me! Almost fell for it until I decided to check it out online. Honestly, it made me feel awful for a bit!

Just got a call like this, but luckily my mum picked up the landline. I rang back using my mobile though, and now I’m kinda freaking out if they can somehow grab info from my phone, like bank stuff or whatever? Does anyone have any idea if that’s even possible?

On the evening of 17th June 2016, around 6 o'clock, I got a call from this number: 01392243051. I checked and it says Exeter. I didn’t answer but let my answerphone take it instead, since I didn’t recognise the number. The message was supposedly from HM Revenue & Customs, but no name was mentioned and it was a bit hard to make out. I decided not to return the call. Feeling a bit worried now, I won’t be using my phone tonight in case they’re still on the line or something weird. :( ?

So I called 1451 and heard this message that claimed to be from the HMRC in Exeter, saying someone was threatening to take me to court. The guy's voice was a bit muffled and I swear he said something like 'Glen from New That' was after me or whatever. It all seemed a bit dodgy, so I looked it up online and ended up here. Luckily, reading the stuff on this site really helped ease my worries.

Got a call from 01392243051 and it was one of those automated messages threatening me with some HMRC action. Thankfully, my phone has a feature to block numbers, so I've stopped them from ringing me back from that one. The message was pretty vague, just said something about action being taken, no names or details, and there’s 4 people living at my place. I’d seriously recommend folks get a phone that lets you block unwanted calls - it’s a lifesaver!

Got a call this evening around half past five from some automated voice claiming HMRC were after me about a court case. Honestly, it really threw me off. These scoundrels are the worst, hoping they get caught and put away for good. I’m definitely going to report this to the police on 01392243051.

Looks like this number's been blocked now and I’ll be sending the details over to action fraud. Cheers for letting us know. Numbergroup[###] (Provider of the phone number)

Got a call from 01392-243051 earlier, someone claiming to be from HMRC left a voicemail. When I rang back, a bloke with a strong Indian accent answered with "Good Afternoon, Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs." I instantly knew it was a scam and let him have it with some choice words! Then he switched to Hindi, asking why I was so rude. Didn’t feel like wasting more time on him, so I called them scammers, said they were making decent Indians look bad, and hung up straight away. SCAM!

Just got a call from 01392243051 right around tea time, and it was a bit of a shocker. Someone reckoned I owed almost £2000 to some HM department. They said I had to meet an "agent" at the nearby Asda or Argos to sort it out - which struck me as pretty dodgy. I didn’t bother turning up at Asda since I’d already done my shopping. Instead, I popped down to the local police station and reported the whole thing. Felt like the right move to me.

Got a call from this number around 7:45 pm with a recorded voice saying it was HMRC and threatening to take action against me. The moment they said HMRC, I knew it was a con because HMRC never calls with recordings - they always send letters first. Total scam, don't fall for it!

I got a call like that too, and honestly it was the only one that made me pause and think twice before I just cut it off straight away.

I dropped a message regarding HMC's legal action and requested a call back on the number listed above. When someone picked up, they inquired who was calling and then promptly hung up. I’ve attempted to reach them three times since, but now it seems the line is out of service.
