Got tons of annoying calls from this number and ended up reporting it to the local cops. Turns out, this number has nothing to do with Imperial Telecom. Looks like some dodgy call centre pretending to be a well-known company. I contacted Imperial Telecom and their customer service was really helpful in explaining these fake calls and scams going around. Be careful of these tricksters pretending to be from big firms. It's just a scam.

Got a call from a bloke with an asian accent claiming to be from this firm, asking for my bank info which I didn’t share. He mentioned they’d send me a welcome pack soon. Told me I wouldn’t have to pay over £29.99 each month. It’s been well over a week and still nothing through my door. If it does turn up, it’s going straight in the rubbish!

That Adam bloke, also an Asian guy, rang my Dad about a year back and convinced him to switch over from BT. We’ve just been trying to close the account and it’s been an absolute nightmare! I handle Dad’s stuff because he’s 84 and has dementia, and they kept ringing him non-stop to persuade him to stay, even after we said stop calling. They're a shady bunch, don't bother switching to them - they’re not any cheaper anyway!

Got a call from someone who kept going on about BT and cutting my bills. After a lot of back and forth, he finally admitted he wasn’t actually from BT but some company called Imperial Telecom. I got really suspicious and ended the call, it came from 01556620002. I looked up Imperial Telecom online, ended up here and saw others had a similar experience but with different phone numbers. This definitely seems like a scam - watch out!

imperial telecom rings me nearly every other day, saying my next bill will be cheaper. When I tell them I’m with BT, they start acting all rude, saying they’re with openreach and that I must've seen them installing stuff on my street. I tell them they’re just trying to get me to switch phone providers and hang up. It’s always an Asian accent, usually the same bloke I’ve chatted with before. I’ve blocked their numbers but they just call from a different one.

I’ve had a few calls like this too, this one bloke named Chris with a strange accent, sounded like he was trying to help with cutting down on bills. I went along with it and decided to give it a shot. Gave him just my sort code and account number, didn’t share any card info or anything. Apparently, they’ll send me the paperwork in the post for me to check and sign. Looks proper enough so far, they mentioned sending a router and a contract. I’m keeping an eye on it! Someone from Imperial Telecom rang me today, can't recall his name. He started with the standard spiel about cutting down my call charges and line rental, even threw in some specific numbers. Then he asked for my bank sort code and account number. I just made up random ones and gave them to him. When he said the sort code wasn’t valid, I told him to buzz off and be quiet. Pretty sure he rang me a while back too. I reckon he or someone like him will try calling again soon enough.

This week I've had roughly 4 calls from some Asian guy named "David", it’s Friday now. I could hear loads of people chatting about the same stuff behind him. He was pushing some deal saying they could save us loads on our phone bills, claiming to be linked with BT and Openreach. Tried to get me to agree to a payment scheme for “cheap line rental, £44 a month”. Yeah right, we’re already paying less than that. Once I told him that, he got all aggressive and started swearing and throwing foreign insults before hanging up. Proper rude!

Imperial Telecoms have called me more than 20 times recently. I picked up a few times and explained we don’t use their services. I told them I wanted all the info in writing to think about it properly. They just said to visit their website. They didn’t ask for my bank details, which I’d never share over the phone anyway. What they did sounds like what others here have had too. I can stand my ground and not get pushed into stuff, but what about elderly or vulnerable people who feel pressured? They really need some safeguards against these cold calls.

Got a call from an Asian bloke who said his name was Darren. Just like others have said, he was really pushy and wouldn’t accept a no. He somehow had loads of my info, which honestly was quite worrying. They kept asking for all my bank details, claiming they needed it to set up a direct debit, but I wouldn’t give it. Just got a call like that, said my line rental would be £12.99 and that I'm tied into a contract with BT. They said I could switch and cover the exit fees with the money I’d save. When I asked about broadband, they said I’d still have to use BT for that. Then they asked for my date of birth, saying the deal is only for folks aged 18 to 75!!!

my uncle, who is considered a vulnerable person, got a call from this lot. they told him to get on his laptop and log into facebook, then mentioned some bloke called jack brown as his mate. they managed to trick him into giving his bank card info. when he told me, i went with him to the bank and found out hes been scammed out of hundreds, like £900 plus. his card was charged on sites like ebay india and flipkart. be careful with these people!

I got a call from a bloke named Steven with a strong Asian accent, said he was from Imperial Telecom. He claimed they’d teamed up with BT to merge lines and offer cheaper calls. He asked for my date of birth and to confirm my address. Then he passed me to a supervisor who repeated all the questions. They said a new router would be sent for about £49 and asked for my bank details. That’s when I hung up. A couple of minutes later, the same guy called back, and I told him I’d never give out bank info over the phone, then ended the call. Haven’t heard from them since.

I’ve just had a rather bothersome experience with this number, which turns out to belong to a market research firm. They've bombarded us with over eight calls today alone! The first time I picked up, it was completely silent, which was rather unsettling. However, when my wife answered, she had a chap on the line quizzing her about newspapers, magazines, and even life insurance! Quite intrusive, if you ask me. I’ve already flagged this nuisance number, and it appears to be an outgoing-only line since my attempt to return the call was met with the message that it’s not recognised. Very odd!

After getting constant calls every day, i finally managed to talk to someone. They told me they were from creative favours and said they needed to ask me 4 questions. They tried to verify who i was (which i never confirmed or denied) and asked if i had life insurance, which paper i read, and if my car was more than 3 years old. It felt like a marketing ploy. Then they asked me to stay on the line listening to a recording but ended up just hanging up on me!
