Got a call from a woman with a foreign accent who said she was from the National Crime Agency. She claimed my computer ID was stolen by criminals and told me to contact my local crime office. Sounds like a scam to me.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent who said he was from BT. He warned me that my internet would cut out in about 30 minutes since someone had apparently hacked into my broadband and was trying to install some nasty software.

I answered the call, only to be greeted by a few moments of complete quiet. Then, out of nowhere, a woman's voice piped up to bid farewell!

Just got a ring from someone calling herself Tracey claiming she was calling from London. The accent was nothing like English at all. She told me someone in California had hacked my IP address, which seemed pretty dodgy to me. I grabbed this number using 1471.

Got a call from this number earlier, looks like just another one of those annoying internet service scams.

Some bloke said he was from BT and started chatting rubbish about my PC being hacked. Then he handed me over to his "supervisor," who was just as pushy, asking for my personal info. I cheekily asked if he really wanted my bank card number, and he said yes - I asked twice just to be sure! When I called him out on it, he suddenly said he’d misunderstood and then just hung up on me!

Got a call from some Indian lady saying my BT internet deal was getting cancelled in a couple hours. I was like, wait, I already ended that contract six months back. Total scam, don't fall for it!

Supposed to be calling from BT. Just a heads up, this could very well be a risky scam.

Received a call earlier today. There was a moment of silence that stretched for roughly ten seconds, and then a woman's voice simply said, "ta-ta."

This number has called me twice today. They asked about how many gadgets I’ve got hooked up to the internet. Apparently, after that ransomware attack on Friday, they said we were in danger. They told me to restart my router and then ring them back once it was done.

Got a call from this number today, but as soon as I answered, they just hung up and then my phone locked itself. Weird!

Had a most peculiar phone call today. The chap on the line claimed to be from BT and appeared to possess my internet ID number, if you can believe it! He threatened that my internet would be cut off unless I complied with his demands. When I probed him with some questions, he got his facts all muddled up, which only made him more irate. I decided it was best to hang up at that point. It's all a bit dodgy, if you ask me! Just don't share any personal information with these sorts - it strikes me as a right scam!

This number rang us twice today, about an hour between calls. When we answered, there was nothing but silence on the line, and then all of a sudden someone said "Goodbye" and hung up. Very strange!

Got a call from this number but didn’t pick up. Tried ringing it back afterwards and it just said the number wasn’t active. Seems like a total scam to me.

Got a call from some dodgy scammers pretending to be hackers. Proper annoying!

This number rang me up thrice today. The initial call was all distorted sounds, then the next call was just quiet for ages before someone said goodbye and hung up. The final time, a woman with a strong Indian accent answered, giving an English name. She claimed she was from BT and said my internet would be disconnected. When I questioned why, since I pay via monthly direct debit, she just cut the call. Quite strange!

Got two calls earlier, one just before half past eleven and the other just after twelve. Picked up the first and all they said was "Goodbye" then cut off straight away. Missed the second call so it went to voicemail, but no one left a message. Feels a bit dodgy to me.

Received a rather curious call purporting to be from BT. The chap informed me that my internet service would be interrupted imminently, within the next thirty minutes, and then swiftly ended the conversation. Quite peculiar, isn't it?

I received a call from a chap at a call centre claiming to represent BT. He informed me that there had been some peculiar goings-on with my phone line in the wee hours, specifically between midnight and 4am. Apparently, it was a potential hacking situation, and he even threw around the term 'ransomware'. He insisted that I hop on my computer to sort it out. When I declined, he became quite irate. I decided to cut the call short.

This is definitely a con. If you want to mess with them a bit, try keeping them on the phone as long as you can to waste their time. Don’t let it irritation you and think of it as a bit of fun. They can’t actually do anything harmful, so don’t be scared. Eventually, they’ll quit when they figure out you’re not giving them a penny. Whenever I feel they’re about to get annoyed and hang up, I ask something like, "Would your mum be happy knowing you’re trying to scam folks?" That usually gets them to hang straight away!

I had a truly dreadful experience with this lot. It’s nothing more than a scam! When I attempted to prolong the conversation, the operator resorted to foul language, hurling insults and even making threats of physical harm. Absolutely disgraceful!

I just let it ring off since the caller ID showed “INTERNATIONAL” and those are always a nope for me. My late sister-in-law once had a right funny exchange with one of these calls. She told them they’d caught her in a prayer session, and in the background you could hear her husband shouting “Hallelujah!” It gave her a good chuckle. Whenever I get one of these, I usually tell them I’m stuck up on a ladder and to ring back later. Can’t say any caller’s ever asked if I’m still up there, but I’m waiting for that cheeky reply!

Got a call from a lady speaking with a really thick accent, said she was from BT about my broadband. Thing is, I don’t even have BT broadband. She mentioned some free service or offer, and that’s when I just ended the call. Felt like one of those scams trying to get into your computer, like others have warned about.

Received a call purporting to be from BT, insisting that our internet security had been compromised. I was immediately on high alert as the chap identified himself as David, but his accent was clearly not British. He inquired if I was at my computer so he could guide me through some steps. The moment I heard that, I knew it was a dodgy scam, so I firmly told him to take my number off his list. I’ve currently got BT on the line waiting to sort this out.

So this bloke with a really thick Indian accent calls me up, right? He tells me his name is John Smith, which is kinda funny, lol. Then he goes on to say he's from BT and that there's some problem with my internet. Yeah, sure... like I'd fall for that!

I received a couple of calls this week claiming to be from BT. When I asked them about providing any bank details, I firmly stated that I hadn't. Just to be sure, I contacted BT myself, and they assured me that those calls weren't from them. How dodgy! xx
