Since I work handling 999 calls, I have to leave the control room to take any phone call in a quiet area, as mobiles and private chats aren’t allowed otherwise. On top of that, I have an elderly mum, so I always need to double-check if it’s something urgent about her. It’s awful how these types of calls disrupt people’s lives.
