I received a rather suspicious call from a gentleman claiming to be from TalkTalk, and he informed me that I had an outstanding bill of £69. Strangely, he threatened me with the possibility of a warrant for my arrest if I didn't settle the amount. The moment I called him out on his dodgy scheme, he went quiet and then promptly cut the call. Classic scammer tactics, if you ask me!

I got a call from what they said was Carphone Warehouse but the accent sounded like it was coming from India, even though the call showed Langholm, Scotland as the location. A lady tried to pitch me a phone deal, saying it was a new contract. Problem was, the phone was exactly the one I already own, and the price they wanted was twice as much as what I’m currently paying! I told them no thanks, ended the call, and then blocked their number straight away.

Claimed to be representing TalkTalk, but their accent was definitely more reminiscent of Delhi than Dumfries. I find it hard to believe that TalkTalk has any actual operations in this area. However, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they outsourced their telemarketing efforts to India, using a local number to trick UK customers into picking up.
