I got a letter claiming I owed money to EDF after switching from my previous provider. I rang EDF straight away and found out the claim was rubbish. Then I called the company who sent the letter and told them to shut down the account and send me confirmation in writing. The woman on the phone wanted me to update my contact info so she could pass it on to EDF... I told her EDF already have my correct details, so she didn’t need anything from me, and I made it clear she must delete all my personal data.

I’ve been getting constant calls from these debt collectors for British Gas, trying to chase a small debt that was built up before I even lived here. When I phoned British Gas once to explain the bill wasn’t mine, instead of stopping, they just took the number I rang from and told their agencies to keep texting me every day. I’ve complained loads about the hassle, but it’s like no one’s listening, and they still have this number tied to someone else’s name in their system.

Got this strange automated message asking for a person I don't know, and for more than a decade loads of debt collectors keep ringing me trying to find this same person. They clearly don’t get that phone numbers get recycled when folks move, they’re not tied to an address or individual. Capital Resolve Limited keep ringing me about a debt linked to Virgin Media. The weird part is, I've never had any Virgin account, yet their automated message says my name. I haven't bothered calling back but they've been phoning me nearly every day for more than two weeks now.

Capital Resolve 01386 719130 left me a voicemail asking me to ring a different number about their client Vodafone UK. I no longer have a Vodafone account, though I did in the past, so this could have easily tricked me! Best to avoid answering this number or calling them back.

01386719130 - been getting texts that look like they’re from British Gas using my number but are actually meant for someone else. Now they say it’s been passed on to Capital Resolve to chase some debt that isn’t mine, still meant for my ex. Both calls and texts keep coming through.

This is a debt collection firm, I got a letter from them about someone else’s debt, who’s never even lived here. I rang them using this number and they said they wouldn’t bother me again, but I reckon they’ll keep knocking trying to get me to pay for someone else’s debt.

This number appears to be involved in a scam. I received a text message claiming that a "T Chapman" has an outstanding debt and instructed me to contact Capital to sort it out. To be clear, I am absolutely not T Chapman! I also received several automated calls with the same nonsense. Be wary!
