Like others have said, this really needs to be put to an end.

For the past four months, this number has been billing us roughly £20 each month. Turns out it's the Global Payments card reader calling the main office in Dunfermline, Fife, during the early hours between 2.30 and 4am to update some data linked to their service. We only discovered this because nobody mentioned we needed to reset the machine’s password.

Do you happen to possess a PDQ machine? The number in question relates to software and connectivity verifications for Ingenico terminals that communicate with the acquiring bank, known as Global Payments. I’m employed at a call centre for a firm that supplies these devices, and I recently received a call from a merchant. She noticed on her phone bill that this number had been dialled six times on the 18th of August during the hours of 4am to 9:35am. Quite peculiar, really!

This number showed up on one of my business accounts even though the shop was shut and the premises secured. Looking through the last year’s bills, I noticed it appeared three or four times each month, always around 5 or 6 in the morning, long after closing. Then I had a look at my other business 250 miles away in Kent and, guess what, the same number was there too - again, early morning calls, about four or five times a month. I honestly have no clue why I’m being charged for these calls??????

I noticed this number showing up on one of my business accounts after I'd already closed the business and secured the premises.

I got billed by BT for three calls to 01383826124, all made in the middle of the night when I definitely wasn’t on my phone. I contacted BT about it and they rang me back today, but they couldn’t give any reason for these charges either.
