Reports on phone number 01383692913

I received a phone call while I was away from home, and my boy picked it up. They asked for me by name and were quite familiar with my address and postcode. They claimed to be from BT, offering a 25% discount on my bill, supposedly due to my loyalty as a customer (as if I’d fall for that!). After doing a bit of digging on the BT Scam Calls forum, I discovered that plenty of others have encountered the same ruse. It’s definitely a scam. My son decided to play innocent and didn't share any information, instead asking, "So, what's the trick behind this scam?" which seemed to rattle the caller before they abruptly hung up. I've now blocked the number.

My lad picked up the phone when I wasn’t in, and the caller asked straight away for me by name, even knew where I lived including the postcode. They said they were from BT and offered a 25% reduction on my bill because I’m supposedly a loyal customer (yeah, right!). I had a look on BT’s forum and found loads of people getting the same call. It’s 100% a scam. My son acted clueless and didn’t give any info, then cheekily asked, ‘What’s the catch with this scam?’ which seemed to annoy them enough to hang up. I’ve blocked the number since then.
