Got a call earlier today about my phone bill and some payments.

Got a call earlier and when I didn’t say which phone provider I use, the bloke just ended the call straightaway. That was the second time today! The first caller rang from 01914 265432, said they were EDF, but it turned out they were actually from 2Touch, who seem to cold call for EDF. Same thing happened with that guy too - as soon as I didn’t answer their question, “who’s your phone line provider?”, he just hung up on me. Proper annoying.

They said the call was from 'Dundee' but I really doubt it! Some guy calling himself 'Michael the Asian' wanted to confirm the name of a fake person I gave ages ago on a survey I naively did. This time, he was asking about my phone bill but wouldn’t explain anything and just dropped the call. Definitely sounded like a dodgy scammer trying to get my bank info or something.

There was this awkward silent moment, then someone asked to talk to whoever handles the gas and electric bills. They wouldn’t say their name or which company they were from. Just ended the call. The TPS and OfCom don’t help much with these calls since the caller ID is always spoofed, and they only act against firms that show who they are. Really, the phone companies need to step up and make a caller ID system that can’t be faked, so these dodgy callers can be tracked down properly.

Got a call today from someone claiming to be with a company that helps switch utility providers to save cash on gas and electric. Funny thing is, I already changed my supplier not long ago to get a better deal. When I asked a few questions, they just ended the call right away. Told myself no way, so blocked the number!

They mumble quite quick, so it’s tough to catch what they're saying. I just say I’m not interested and hang up straight away.
