Got a call earlier from a woman with an Asian accent saying she’s from BT. She said my internet was gonna get cut off and offered to help set up some sort of security thing. Felt fishy straight away, so I looked up the number afterward and sure enough, it’s just another scam. Looks like these fraudsters are pretty active at the moment.

Yesterday I got a call from someone with an Indian accent who was really rude and kept dropping awful swear words when I mentioned I only use android gadgets on my internet. Seems like a total scam to me. Best to just ignore if you get a call like this.

I got a call like this from supposed BT people saying my internet would be offline for weeks unless they got into my computer. When I pointed out the number they showed wasn’t a London one, they just hung up. Looks like they’re using tech to fake their caller ID - the number they had seemed to come from Dundee, Scotland, but I’m pretty sure the call was from India or somewhere else far away. They’ll probably use a different fake number next time to dodge any call blockers you might have. These scammers are just leeches, and it feels like there’s not much OFCOM can do about it. Just be careful out there. It’s one of those downsides of living in such a tech-driven age.

After seeing what everyone else said about this number, I’ve gone ahead and blocked it myself. Honestly, phone providers really ought to do something to shut these scammers down!

I got a phone call from a woman with an Indian accent, from the number 01382491379, claiming she worked in BT’s tech support. She said my internet was running slow and mentioned my PC had been active between midnight and 1:30 AM, then asked how many people live here and who uses the computer. Weirdly enough, my broadband was acting up and the wifi kept dropping, so I gave her a bit of info. She then wanted me to switch my PC on, but I told her no. She said, "Don’t you trust me?" I just replied, "Would you?" and said I’d contact BT myself before ending the call.

Got a call from this number again but no voicemail or anything. Shortly after, I got another call from a number almost the same, just the ending digits are .468. Had a quick look here and found at least one other comment about it. Seems like the same lot, maybe? Weird.

Got a ring from this number again but no voicemail left. Then I got a call from a number that was almost the same, just the last three digits were 468. Took a quick look here and found someone else had already mentioned it. Seems like it's the same lot messing about. Strange!

I got a call from someone claiming to be from BT tech support, saying they were going to disconnect my internet. I didn’t mention I was actually with Sky! It was obvious a dodgy scam - I could hear other calls going on in the background and there was that annoying pause before I even spoke. Typical scammy call centre stuff.

I picked up the phone, and right after a couple of seconds, a lady just said goodbye. Honestly, the government really needs to step in and sort out these annoying scammers and pesky calls once and for all.

Loads of times I've got calls from them on my landline. I never pick up and the moment my answerphone starts, they just cut off. They did try calling my mobile first but I ended up blocking that number.

Got a ring from some people up in Dundee, but they didn’t bother to leave any voicemail. Strange, innit? Could’ve been a scam, trying to sell some rubbish scheme or summat. Either way, just a total waste of time!

This number has been calling me loads lately, especially when I refused to turn on my computer for them. Most of the time, there's just silence or a quick thanks before hanging up. It's really getting on my nerves. No idea how much longer it'll go on. Maybe I should just ditch my phone and BT altogether, then maybe they’d actually care if they started losing customers!

Had the same thing happen to me, not a word from them just a quick goodbye. When I dialled 1471 it said the number isn’t valid. It’s a UK number too, so why is this even allowed to happen? Really frustrating!

Today at about 10:37, I got a ring from this number. The person on the line said it was regarding my BT internet, but I don't even have BT internet, so I just ended the call. Funny thing is, earlier this morning around 9:43, I had another call from 0099070334, and from what I gathered online, that one was pretending to be BT too!

Got another call from these lot today, but this time it was from a new number. I’d already blocked the first one, which was an overseas number linked to Kansas. Seems like they’ve switched their number so the call actually gets through now. I’ll report this new number to the TPS, though I’m not confident it’ll help much since others have mentioned BT can’t even identify it. When will people in the UK finally get some proper protection against these scammers?

I've had calls from 01382491379 popping up on different days and it’s getting a bit much. Now I just don’t pick up my landline at all. The phone will ring and then stop as soon as my answering machine kicks in. When I tried calling it back with my number hidden, BT told me it’s not a valid number. It’s frustrating why BT can’t just block these nuisance calls for us.

Had a call like this just now, some bloke claiming to be a hacker wanting to ‘fix’ my PC. They say your computer's got a virus and try to grab control, but honestly, just hang up right away. Can’t believe these cheeky scammers still think people fall for this old trick!

Around 10 this morning, I got a call from this number claiming my computer was full of dangerous emails and they could fix it. The woman on the line sounded like she wasn’t from here. I told her I’d sort any issues through my internet company and that I’d call them directly. After that, I thanked her nicely and ended the call. There’s nothing wrong with my computer, so I’m certain this is a scam. Don’t share any info and honestly, it’s safest to just hang up straight away.

I looked into this number 01382 491379 and found out it's connected to Vodafone. Since it uses the Dundee area code, I'd say be very cautious if you get a call from it. Definitely don't give out any personal info! Sounds pretty dodgy to me.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent, said she was from BT and warned me my broadband was about to be cut off. She tried to get me to set up some sort of security thing - feels like I’ve heard that excuse a million times. I told her I wasn’t having any of it and ended the call. Looked up the number afterwards and, no surprise, it's a scam. Looks like these scammers have been running around a lot today.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT’s tech support about my internet. My missus told him to bugger off and not bother again. But he rang back a few hours later, threatening to cut off my internet. I told him that’s not happening and ended the call. My internet’s still working perfectly! Someone should really get this number blocked and punish the people behind these calls. Otherwise, what’s even the point of the Telephone Preference Service?

I got a call from this number this morning around 7:30, but they just dropped it as soon as I picked up. They actually rang me yesterday morning close to the same hour too. It’s really annoying because when someone rings that early, you can't help but worry it's bad news from family or something.

Got a call from an Asian lady, probably working in a call centre since I could hear lots of noise in the background. I didn’t say a word, just ended the call straight away.
