Got a call from a lady claiming to be June, said she was from BT. I told her my name was Shilpa Shetty, and she just hung up on me. That's two calls now - another bloke calling himself Thomas Wilson and then this woman. So weird.

I’ve gotten a couple calls claiming to be from BT’s tech team about my internet, but there’s no issues on my end. The first time I just nicely told them to leave me alone, and the second time I straight up said they’re not really BT and they just hung up. If BT had any problems with your internet, they wouldn’t be calling you like that.

The older woman I look after got a call from someone claiming to be from BT. I told her to hand me the phone so I could handle it, but as soon as I got on, they just ended the call. They keep calling nearly every day now, so it's clear they’re not actually from BT!

Some bloke with a thick Indian accent rang me, claiming he was from BT and said my internet was full of errors and they’d have to turn it off for 20 days. Then he reckoned he could sort it out in 5 minutes if I let him access my computer. Honestly, does anyone actually believe this nonsense? I told him I wasn’t interested and ended the call. Not long after, he rang back sounding annoyed, asking why I’d hung up. I just told him I didn’t trust him and that I was going to hang up again and block his number. Honestly, these scammers are just the lowest of the low.

Got a call yet again from a woman saying she's with BT - this is the third time today. She said our internet will be cut off for 20 days unless we follow her instructions. She asked me to switch on the computer and guide her through fixing some issue, also wanted our IP address. Honestly, it’s worrying how many might actually believe this rubbish.

This number has rung me up about six times just today, all with that same spiel about an issue with our BT internet. Every time I asked for their number, they gave me a dodgy one that didn't check out, but a quick call to 1471 showed me their real number. When I kept telling them I wasn’t buying it, the person got really nasty and shouted, “I will ### you. I will shoot gun.” Proper creepy behaviour.

Had a call earlier today from a woman claiming to be from BT's tech team, saying my computer was downloading harmful files because of something with my IP. She wanted me to turn on my PC so she could help clean it up. I told her no thanks, I have my own security set up and don’t need her help at all. Quite a cheeky scam if you ask me!

I've been getting calls at pretty regular times throughout the day, but all I hear is complete silence. Sometimes, after a bit of quiet, a lady's voice comes on just to say "goodbye". Quite strange and a bit annoying really.

Got a ring from 01382491353 claiming I’d been illegally downloading stuff on my computer - which isn’t true at all! The person said they were from BT and warned me if I didn’t remove the supposed files, my broadband would be cut off and BT would get in trouble. Thing is, I only use an iPad, no computer in the house!

Had a call just like this back about a year ago and when I questioned if it was real, they threatened to turn off my internet. Today I got another one, this time from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from BT technical support saying there was an issue with my internet. There really should be some way to put an end to these scams, it's getting ridiculous!

Received one call yesterday and two today seemingly from this number. Each time, there was nothing but silence on the line, followed by an abrupt 'goodbye' - feels dodgy to me! My suspicions have now been echoed by other people's experiences. Cheers for the heads-up! I've gone ahead and reported it to [email protected] - the caller in question is 01382 491353.

I've received a couple of calls today from these individuals, and they've reached out to me previously, too. They claimed to represent BT, warning me that my computer was allegedly being compromised. I merely expressed my gratitude for their concern and promptly hung up. On a prior occasion, they also mentioned that ALL BT internet connections in my vicinity would be disrupted due to a supposed hacking issue. Naturally, that never materialised. Had I continued the conversation, I can only imagine they would’ve tried to extract money for some supposed "service" to prevent this fictitious hacking! It’s baffling-couldn't this be regarded as a criminal act? - Caller claimed to be from BT.

Got a call from some bloke claiming he was from BT, telling us someone was trying to hack our bank using our IP. He said folks would come ‘round today to sort it out. My other half, who’s often unwell anyway, got really stressed by all this shouting on the phone. He even phoned me at work, worried sick. I told him straight up it sounded like a scam, but he kept pushing that it was legit - yeah, sure mate! I asked where he was calling from and he gave me an 0203 number. Told him that number didn’t match the one showing on my phone and then I just hung up. He kept ringing back loads of times and was still trying when I left the house. I just received a rather peculiar phone call from a woman claiming to be 'Ruth', and apparently she works for BT. She mentioned something about my internet connection being under threat from hackers. She was insistent that I press either Ctrl + R or Windows + R to sort it out. Now, she seemed quite convinced of her authenticity, but I was a tad sceptical; so I politely declined her offer and expressed my doubts. To my surprise, she abruptly hung up on me! It’s a bit unsettling, really, as they don’t bother to withhold their number, leaving you with a nagging doubt that it might actually be genuine.

I got a call from someone saying they were ringing about my life insurance. They told me I had to get a trust deed but first needed to answer a few questions. I didn't go along with it. I'm guessing they were just trying to push a product on me. I ended up talking to two different people, both with Indian accents. They claimed to be authorised service providers for pretty much every insurance firm in the UK and rattled off loads of names, most I’d never come across apart from Aviva. On top of that, they said they were actually working on behalf of the UK Government.
