I’ve gotten a couple calls claiming to be from BT’s tech team about my internet, but there’s no issues on my end. The first time I just nicely told them to leave me alone, and the second time I straight up said they’re not really BT and they just hung up. If BT had any problems with your internet, they wouldn’t be calling you like that.

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming he was from the Windows support team. Said he needed to sort out my PC, sounded really fishy to me so I just ended the call right away.

Some bloke with a thick Indian accent rang me, claiming he was from BT and said my internet was full of errors and they’d have to turn it off for 20 days. Then he reckoned he could sort it out in 5 minutes if I let him access my computer. Honestly, does anyone actually believe this nonsense? I told him I wasn’t interested and ended the call. Not long after, he rang back sounding annoyed, asking why I’d hung up. I just told him I didn’t trust him and that I was going to hang up again and block his number. Honestly, these scammers are just the lowest of the low.

Got a call yet again from a woman saying she's with BT - this is the third time today. She said our internet will be cut off for 20 days unless we follow her instructions. She asked me to switch on the computer and guide her through fixing some issue, also wanted our IP address. Honestly, it’s worrying how many might actually believe this rubbish.

Had a call earlier today from a woman claiming to be from BT's tech team, saying my computer was downloading harmful files because of something with my IP. She wanted me to turn on my PC so she could help clean it up. I told her no thanks, I have my own security set up and don’t need her help at all. Quite a cheeky scam if you ask me!

On another occasion, they told me every BT internet in my area was about to go down because of some hack. Of course, that never happened at all. So, I got a call from this lady claiming to be from BT, said her name was Ruth and that hackers were messing with my internet. She asked me to press some keys like Ctrl + R or Windows + R to fix it. She sounded really sure of herself, but I had my doubts. I told her I wasn’t convinced and wasn’t interested, and then she just hung up on me! What’s kinda creepy is they didn’t bother to hide their number, so for a moment it felt like they might actually be legit.

I got a call from someone saying they were ringing about my life insurance. They told me I had to get a trust deed but first needed to answer a few questions. I didn't go along with it. I'm guessing they were just trying to push a product on me. I ended up talking to two different people, both with Indian accents. They claimed to be authorised service providers for pretty much every insurance firm in the UK and rattled off loads of names, most I’d never come across apart from Aviva. On top of that, they said they were actually working on behalf of the UK Government.

Got a call once and there was nothing said, just silence. The next time, it was some bloke telling me he had vital info about trusts to dodge pension inheritance tax. He was really pushy about it. When I called back, he could tell I was a bit suspicious and eventually told me the business name, Sedulo Finance Private Ltd. He claimed to be calling for an insurance firm, but never mentioned which one. He said he deals with all the insurance companies anyway.
