Just like everyone else said, got a call from Pure Independence asking about some health survey that "my husband" supposedly did. Problem is, I’ve no husband and I didn’t bother correcting them. I knew it was rubbish straight away, so I told them to remove me from their list. Turns out they still plan on ringing my 'husband' again soon. Got a call yesterday from a bloke who claimed I’d completed some form saying I had body aches. I couldn’t remember anything like that, so I ended up spinning him a tale about how a decade ago I dealt with sciatica. When the doctor gave me strong painkillers, I actually went straight back and said no thanks, I’d rather do physiotherapy instead. After a quick 20-minute session showing me exercises, plus a printed sheet I use for about 10 minutes every morning, I’ve not felt a twinge since. Told the caller that for me, exercise beats any medication hands down. He seemed pretty uninterested after that and just vanished.

The bloke got a bit annoyed when I asked "what's actually being sold?" and who he was with, so pretty clear it was a sales call. Told him no thank you, not interested. Saw this number on my BT Call Guardian app - it had already stopped the call the day before, love that feature! Decided to ring back and someone with a Scottish accent picked up. He said they were doing a health survey and asked if me or my wife had arthritis, both of us said no. Without me even saying anything he promised to take us off their list. Was quite taken aback by how polite he was. Seriously recommend the BT Call Guardian system - no annoying calls anymore but you can still check the log whenever you want, quite interesting to see who's been trying!

Very similar to other stories here. The caller had a polite Scottish accent (though 01382 is Dundee). Claimed I’d done some health survey last year, which I definitely didn’t, mentioning aches and pains. When he realised I wasn’t going to fall for it, he said he'd just bin the form. Feels like they’re targeting older people to scam them. What’s worrying is he seemed to have a lot of my info, and I’m on the TPS list. Yesterday, this number called my elderly mum asking if she had arthritis. She answered while she was half asleep and they told her about some pads that could supposedly help. They said a man named Ewan Crerar would be coming round at 10am and already had her address. We tried ringing back several times this morning to cancel but no one picked up. They claim they're not trying to sell me anything, but it’s obvious that’s exactly what they’re after. Guy with a Scottish accent from Pure Independence rang me. He claimed I'd done a survey on arthritis. He also knew my address which was a bit creepy. Told him I hadn't done it. Asked if anyone else in the house had, I said no one. Then he said he’d take my name off their list.

Got a call from a guy speaking with a Scottish accent claiming I'd completed a survey last year - which I definitely hadn't. I told him I don't take part in phone surveys, but he insisted I must have forgotten. When I mentioned I'm on the TPS list, he said it wasn't an unsolicited call because I had supposedly reached out to them a year ago and that this was just a follow-up. I never contacted them before. Seems like a total scam to me.

He called and said my name, then immediately started talking. I just hung up straight away. Last time I got a call like this they were asking loads about our health problems and trying to book an appointment with us. I looked up the number online and found out it was a sales company pushing different products meant to “help” with aches and pains. Loads of people online said the sales calls were really pushy. I reported them to Action Fraud and told them that when they rang again. The stuff they said was unreal, you’d have to hear it to believe it.

Someone rang my work number yesterday but hung up when it got redirected. Then they rang back today just as I was looking up their number, and when I picked up and said it was a business, they quickly said sorry, got the wrong number.
