someone rang me claiming to be from bt openreach, saying there was an issue with my phone line. i never reported anything wrong, and everything seems fine from my side. he asked if he could link a bt server to my laptop to run some tests. i told him that sounded risky and asked for his number so i could call back later. he said he gets why i’m worried but that this was the only method to find the fault.

I got a recorded voice saying my internet router was hacked and if I pressed a button, they’d send an ‘engineer’ to call me back. Complete scam if you ask me.
