I got a call from some bloke claiming to be from ‘Microsoft’, saying my phone was hacked by someone overseas. When I pressed him, he mentioned it might be from Pakistan or Bangladesh, but definitely not Russia or India. I kept stringing him along by acting confused and not following his directions. Once I admitted I knew he was a total conman, he started shouting and swearing before abruptly ending the call.

In a bid to steer the conversation away from whatever she wanted, I foolishly started chatting about the weather in India. Turns out she was actually from Pakistan!
