Got a automated call on 29/4 about internet stuff, just like always, ended up hanging up straight away.

Got a robo call from a voice saying “this is Shirley from your internet provider. Your IP has supposedly been breached in multiple countries.” They told me to press 1 to talk to someone or my internet would be cut off in a day. I just ended the call straight away. I dialled 1471 to check the number, but it looks dodgy and probably fake. Shouldn’t an “internet provider” actually say which company they’re from? Feels really shady to me. If I had pressed 1 and got through, they’d probably try getting remote access and that’s how you end up with ransomware for sure.

So, I got a missed call from this number and honestly, glad I didn’t pick up. It’s 9 in the morning after all. If I can’t manage to block it somehow, looks like I’ll be dodging calls from this number all day.
