They attempted to peddle a mobile phone and contract to me, asking for my bank account details. I decided to hand over a bogus number instead. Then, they moved onto the next trick and requested my credit information for a credit check-classic move in a scam where they would typically fleece you. To keep things entertaining, I strung them along for a full hour just to occupy their time.

How delightful of them to offer me a discount on a service I don't even use! Best approach? Just ignore them. But if you're keen on having a laugh at their expense, feel free to waste their precious time. I received a rather peculiar phone call earlier from a woman who had a very pronounced Indian accent. She identified herself as part of the marketing team from EE, claiming she had an enticing phone upgrade offer for me. Now, I do indeed have a contract with EE, so I enquired about the specific individual she intended to address. Curiously, she completely sidestepped my question, repeating her scripted pitch instead. Despite my insistence for her to clarify whom she was trying to reach, she continued to ignore my inquiries and plunge back into her sales jargon. Eventually, I made it clear that if she were genuinely representing EE, she would surely inform me of the intended recipient of her call, and requested the name of the person she was after. At that, she abruptly terminated the call without a word. I’m firmly convinced it was a scam!
