Picked up the phone with my normal hello, got a guy on the line speaking with a thick accent who just said my last name! I asked 'who's this' since I expect strangers to actually use some sort of polite title like 'Mr' before my name! He just kept saying my surname again, so I said 'who?' once more and then he just cut off the call! Proper rude and disrespectful, blocked the number straight away 😡

He linked my name to my number. When I kept asking who it was, he just kept asking if I was the person he mentioned. The name he gave didn’t match his accent at all. When I asked what company he was with, he just ended the call.

Before I could get comfortable, he started going on about how he doesn’t read newspapers either because they're just full of bad stuff. I ended the call pretty quick. Got a ring from this number which was new to me. I hit option 2 to stop any more calls and ended up speaking to a lady who sounded a bit all over the place and her English wasn’t great.
