I got a phone call from someone claiming to be BT, saying I was eligible for a special offer because I always pay my bills on time. I told them I wasn’t actually a BT customer, but they kept insisting BT owns every number, regardless. The caller went on about free local, national, international and mobile calls. Then he asked me to confirm my bank details, mentioning the card starts with 4659. I told him there’s no way I’d share that info. He claimed he could see my entire card number, so I challenged him to say what it was. That’s when he told me, "you don’t know who you’re talking to." I said to stop calling and to remove my number, ‘cos it’s clear this is a scam, no legit company asks for that. I hung up. Not long after, he rang back threatening he knew where I lived and said he’d come round to deal with me. I ended the call again. On the third call, my husband picked up, but the man kept with his threats. We hung up once more.
