I received a rather suspicious phone call from a woman with an Indian accent, claiming to be named Derry and representing Microsoft. She insisted that my computer was sending error messages back to them. However, I don’t even use Microsoft products since I'm an Apple Mac user! She requested that I sit down at my computer so she could guide me through removing a virus that was supposedly wreaking havoc. I promptly ended the conversation, recognising it as a blatant scam.

Today, I received a call from this number claiming there was a virus on my computer. I can assure you, my laptop is clean as I use AVG and pay for their services. The caller couldn't seem to speak any English, so I requested to speak with someone who could, but they just hung up on me!
