I've had about eight calls from this number today. They keep saying they're from BT and that we owe them money, but we've never had an account with BT at all. Proper annoying!

Not sure the call even came from anywhere close to Aboyne. Looks like a spoofed number to me.

I wouldn't suggest ringing back if you get a missed call from a number you don’t know. There’s a good chance you might end up facing some sort of problem or get connected to a premium line that charges loads. Better to just leave it alone.

27 years old and calls himself a ‘financial crime analyst’ - they somehow got through to me and started off like that.

No one here really mentioned what the person on the other end was asking about. I didn't pick up when they rang, but I gave the number a ring back wanting to catch any scammers - I work in financial crime so I've put my number on some dodgy phishing sites to see what might come through. Turns out, the call connected me to a call centre, which seemed more like a general sales pitch, but I can’t say for certain what it was all about.

Got a call around 4:50pm on April 9th, 2020, and the caller ID showed a place called Aboyne - never heard of it before so I just ignored it. Big thanks to everyone who shared their experiences here. I've blocked the number now.

My husband answered the phone and as soon as he said hello, the caller just hung up straight away.

it might be spam. i have no credit left to call them back, so i couldnt ring the number. i was expecting them to ring me again since i missed the call, but so far, nothing. i'll wait and see what comes up next.

Got a call from a bloke with a funny accent who wanted to ask me a bunch of questions. I asked him what he did for work and told him supermarkets are desperate for workers these days. He just hung up on me, no thanks or anything. Bit rude if you ask me.

i usually just cut the call off and dont say a word back to them. after that, straight to blocking their number! cant believe how these lot even sleep at night. honestly, they all need to be caught and dealt with proper.
