I received a call suggesting that for an extra fiver each month, they could upgrade my EE plan from 4G to 5G. They mentioned sending over some documents for me to sign, which raised my suspicions-even more so because I really thought it sounded like a scam. The conversation felt quite convincing, but I don't even have an account with EE! The glaring issue was they would’ve needed my address, which would have pulled me deeper into this dubious situation. If they were genuinely my provider, they ought to have already had that information!

I got a missed call today on my work mobile, but no voicemail was left. When I called back, an automatic voice said it was from E-Core Host. According to my search, E-Core Host Ltd, which was a firm based in London, was officially shut down in September 2021. Weirdly, the number I called back had a Scottish area code. The recorded message offered two choices: press 1 to talk with an advisor or press 9 to register your number on their do not call list.
