I received a call from someone claiming to be with BT Openreach, insisting there was a problem with my internet connection. He attempted to persuade me to download an app onto my phone. I decided to play along for a bit, then revealed that I was well aware of his scam. I mentioned I could keep him on the line indefinitely, but that would simply be a futile exercise for him. He promptly ended the call.

I received a call purporting to be from BT, warning us that our service was about to be terminated. The thing is, we’re not even BT customers! I told them to carry on without us. They attempted to engage with the homeowner, but didn’t even mention any names. Quite curious, really!
