01332221987 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01332221987 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance involving unsolicited cold calls from a security alarm company targeting individuals across various UK regions. Callers often know recipients’ names and addresses, claim police no longer respond to alarms, and push for appointments or sales of monitored alarm systems at a fixed low price, typically around £99. Many report aggressive or rude behaviour when declined, hang-ups when questioned, and refusal to disclose company details. Despite registrants being on the Telephone Preference Service, calls continue, sometimes several times a week, with no messages left. There are strong concerns regarding phishing for personal details, potential scams, and the risk of facilitating burglary by identifying unprotected homes. Users are advised not to engage, avoid sharing any information, and block the number promptly.

Someone called me on my phone, I couldn’t pick up but looked them up here. No clue who they are or anyone from Derby with that number. I never pick up calls from unknown numbers. From what others have said, sounds like they’re trying to scam people for info. I’d just block it.

Received a call today where they specifically mentioned my name. However, when I inquired who it was, they abruptly hung up, sounding quite annoyed.

Glad I didn't answer, but thought I'd look it up before calling back. I’m from just outside Birmingham, not Derby, so it’s odd they’d be trying to reach me. Like someone mentioned before, I’d really want to know how they got my info in the first place. With GDPR now, you'd assume random calls like these would be banned? It feels like selling people's contact details should be totally illegal!

I've had a call from this number, and when I inquired about how they obtained my details since they’re not listed anywhere, the person claimed it was from some UK database. I pointed out that such a database doesn't exist! I was about to insist they delete my number from their system, since I refuse to endorse unsolicited calls, but before I could finish, they hung up on me. I attempted to ring them back, but surprise, surprise-no one picked up. Just a heads up, folks: steer clear, as they're definitely up to no good!

I had a rather unpleasant experience with a phone call from this number. The caller was quite forceful and aggressive when I mentioned that I wasn't interested in whatever they were selling. It left me feeling uneasy, and I can only imagine how it might intimidate someone who’s older or more vulnerable. Really quite appalling behaviour!

For the last few weeks, this number kept calling me loads, and I just ignored it since I didn’t know it. But today I picked up. A woman asked for me by name, so I said "who’s calling please?" but she didn’t say anything else and just hung up! I never share any personal info with unknown callers, and I'd tell anyone to be careful with calls like this.

I picked up the phone and a lady asked for me by name. I asked her who she was, and she said the call was for Mrs W. When I asked where she was calling from, she got a bit annoyed because I wouldn't say who I was until she explained the reason for the call. She tutted, let out a sigh, mumbled something and then hung up on me.

I received a call on Saturday, 7th April, around midday. Typically, I tend to ignore unsolicited calls, but I must admit, this chap had a way about him that almost made him seem credible and like he was running a legitimate venture. He went on to mention that he'd been in our street, dealing with a few of the neighbours. However, as he continued, it became increasingly clear to me that this was all a ruse. He promised to ring back on Monday with further details, but I had a strong feeling he wouldn't show up. The price he quoted for the security systems he was promoting was £99.

Had a similar experience the other day. Got a cold call from a bloke claiming to be from Manguard Security, trying to sell me an alarm system for £99 (with some dodgy maintenance fees, apparently) saying they’d checked my area and noticed I don’t have one installed (which is totally untrue). I told him straight up I don’t share personal info since I work from home for the government and all my calls are recorded. Strange enough, I then heard a weird, panicked noise on the line before he hung up abruptly. Makes me think they don’t want anyone “official” catching on to their scam.

Just like mentioned up there. He said he’d been around the whole street and everyone told him nobody answers when the alarms go off. That’s not right at all. He even said he knew I had an alarm but my provider wouldn’t react if it went off. Got pretty rude when I said no to him coming over. Not a nice bloke and how he acted made me not want to deal with that company, even if I didn’t already have my own security set up.

I had a rather unsettling encounter today with a chap attempting to market a phone-based alarm system that apparently lacks an external bell. He seemed quite insistent on visiting, but I mentioned I wouldn't be in. It got my mind racing when he casually remarked that if the alarm were to trigger, my neighbours might just overlook it or perhaps they'd not be at home either. It left me feeling a tad uneasy, as he struck me as someone who could be sizing up whether my house would be vacant. Quite a brusque fellow, to say the least.

I've had multiple calls from this number. Most of the time it's just silence on the other end or it diverts to voicemail without any message. Despite being registered with the Telephone Preference Service, it seems futile. My son works as an emergency doctor and is frequently on 14-hour night shifts; these constant interruptions during his daytime rest are really irritating. This kind of harassment is unacceptable and ought to lead to legal consequences for the offender.

Got a call from a woman today who confidently used my surname. She told me the Police don’t respond to burglar alarms anymore and tried to sell me their phone-based silent alert system for break-ins or medical emergencies, saying they’d handle the right response. When I said I’d check online first, she got rude - like, “we’re not online, so why would you do that!” I ended the call politely. We’re alright, but I’m mad they might ring people like my mum who could be worried enough to go along with it.

I received a call from a gentleman who seemed to have personal details about me, including my name and address. He was pushing a sales pitch for alarm systems and expressed a desire to stop by and chat about them with me tomorrow. He mentioned he was also planning to visit my neighbours, or so he claimed. I received several calls today, including one marked as TPS, and my phone indicated they were coming from Derby. I decided not to pick up as I wanted to research the number first, which I have now done through this site. Usually, I’d just block such calls, but after learning they're associated with an alarm company, I thought next time they ring I’ll just tell them my property is well-secured with a full alarm system and that I own three Rottweilers. It does worry me a bit, though-if they can tell you don’t have an alarm and know where you live, it puts you at risk of a break-in! If they ring again, I’ll also make an effort to get their name and address.

Earlier today, just after 3pm, I received a rather unwelcome call from a woman who was attempting to sell alarm systems. Naturally, I was curious about how she had my business number, so I inquired. She apologised, mentioning that my details had come from a list and, to my surprise, she even knew my postcode. She claimed she was reaching out because they were operating in my area, specifically Nuneaton, Warwickshire. Despite her apologies, she proceeded to press on about whether I might have any interest in her product. I informed her that I already had an alarm system in place. She probed further, asking about the type of alarm I owned, and pitched her service, which boasted rapid response times in the event of an alarm trigger. I politely declined her offer, stating I wasn't interested, and ended the call.

I got a phone call earlier today from a gentleman who spoke quite eloquently. He was inquiring about whether I had cavity wall insulation and brought up the possibility of damp issues. He mentioned that they could offer a special coating for the walls. I explained that I didn't have any dampness and reminded him that I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service. It appears they’ve set up a fresh venture!

Got a call today and they knew my name straight away. They said they were nearby with a special deal on a monitored alarm and asked if I was interested. I said maybe, but not keen on cold calls, so asked if they could just send info in the post. She hesitated but then said yes, they’d send something and be in touch. Didn’t mention I already have one and she never even asked for my address to send it. Do these people honestly think we’re that daft? Already reported it to trading standards and the police.

The call disconnected as soon as I picked up, and now they’re ignoring my attempts to reach them again. I’ve decided to block the number.

They asked for a Mr? but then said a surname that’s my partner’s. No idea who they’re after. Just a waste of time.

Received a call where the lady mentioned my name and claimed that the police have stopped responding to alarm alerts. When I raised a query, she insisted she wasn’t trying to sell me anything. I explained that these unsolicited calls shouldn’t be happening since I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service. I then decided to end the conversation.

They keep ringing our landline even tho we’re registered with TPS. Didn’t pick up since the number’s unfamiliar. Proper annoying they are.

This number rang me a couple of times in a week. I ignored the initial call, but when they phoned again, I picked up. The person on the line wouldn’t reveal their identity and kept asking if I lived at my address. When I refused to give any info, they asked once more then just hung up. I’ve blocked the number now and reported it to the police.

Got a call from some company trying to get me to buy a monitored alarm system, and they were very aggressive about it. They kept going on about police involvement and some special deal just for my area. If they actually knew where I lived, why not just send the details in the post? Feels like they're fishing for who doesn’t have alarms so they can pick their targets.

I’ve reported this firm to the telephone preference service like 4 times this year already, but it seems like nothing’s been done to stop them.

A caller addressed me by name, claiming to be offering alarm systems as a result of the police's diminished response to alarm activations. When I inquired about how they obtained my phone number, they were unable to provide a clear answer, so I decided to end the call.

Got a call with someone asking for me by name. Told them I was working from home and couldn’t really talk, so I asked what it was regarding. The lady said something about a nationwide electrical service scheme nearby - when I queried if it was nationwide or just local, she just cut me off. Lovely to be interrupted during work, be polite, and then have the phone just ended like that.

They called but hung up just as I was about to pick up. Didn’t leave any voicemail or anything. The number’s got a local code but I don’t recognise it at all.

Got a call earlier, no message left - figured it’s safer to block thanks to what others have shared. Cheers!

I’ve opted out of the directory and registered with the Telephone Preference Service, yet I still got a call purporting to be from a security firm. Despite my repeated insistence that I wasn’t keen, they persisted until they finally hung up. Quite frustrating, really!

I received a call from someone who mentioned my name, but their tone felt really forced, as if they were pretending. When I inquired about who was on the other end, they promptly disconnected. Quite peculiar, I must say!

They actually knew my full name and postcode. The person claimed they were doing a survey about ‘monitored’ home alarms. They wanted info about my alarm system but i didn’t give them anything. I told them I’d verify with the police who they were and then hung up. To me, this caller seemed quite risky.
