I got a call today from 013308 42715, they said it was from VISA and that someone had charged £900 on my card. Thing is, I don’t even own a VISA card. I did see that Banchory is where a bank is based though, which seemed a bit fishy.

Got a call on Monday 30/04/2018 and then again today from the same 'company', but this time using a different number. They let me get almost to giving my card details before I hung up. My phone preferences have been doing a good job lately at keeping these calls away.

Honestly, you gotta try the BT call guard thing! It catches all those unknown numbers like a charm. I always just block any unknown caller now, and they never manage to ring me through. Seriously saved me from loads of bother!

This is the second time I've had a call today from the same number, trying to push some kind of phone blocking service. I already told them we’re registered on the telephone preference list and they’re not meant to be calling us. They just don’t seem to get it, probably because of their accent, which makes me think they struggle with English. Quite frustrating really.

Got a call from someone with a strong Asian accent saying they were from TPS. I just told him to get lost and then blocked the number straight away.

This number has been calling me loads too, around seven times! I actually picked up one call half an hour ago and quickly told them to buzz off, I was done with the hassle. Crazy thing is, they didn’t stop and I’ve had another three calls after that! I’ve switched my answerphone on now. They say they’re with some call blocking company, but it’s pretty funny since they’re the ones causing all the bother! Seems like they don’t even realise the irony.

Got 3 calls from this number all within about an hour and a bit, so I finally picked up. The person on the other end said they were from the TPS, but then tried to make me give my debit card info to "keep my protection active." Thing is, TPS is a free thing, no payments needed.

Today I got four calls and luckily BT Call Guardian stopped them from ringing through. What a pain!

This number kept ringing me all day, loads of times, and when I finally answered, there was nothing but silence. Then they called again, and when I picked up, they asked me to confirm my name. I asked who they were, and they said they were from the telephone preference service. They wanted to know if I’d been getting any annoying calls, I told them about one from 01330330005, and then they just hung up on me.

I’ve discovered that the quickest way to irritate these people is to pick up, hear a bit of their scripted nonsense, and then suddenly blow a referee’s whistle straight into the phone. They usually catch on pretty quick after that.

Then around 4pm they called again, saying I needed to check my husband’s card because they claimed it ran out in 2018 and offered to stop annoying calls. I knew that wasn’t right since his card expires in 2020. I turned down everything they asked for and the caller got quite cross. I told him my husband is actually in palliative care, battling cancer (which is true), and that these calls were upsetting and unwelcome. After that, I ended the call quickly.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from the TPS, asking if we were receiving nuisance calls. He then went on to confirm my Mum’s name and where she lived, before asking for her bank card details. He insisted I check if the card had expired in 2018, as that’s the info they supposedly had. When I wouldn’t wake Mum to check, he got annoyed with me for not giving the info. I told him straight I had no idea who he was. He tried to sound convincing, saying he was exactly who he claimed. What a sneaky con artist!
