Time and again, we’ve been told that signing up with TPS is the way to fend off these nuisance calls, with reassurances from BT and various other service providers claiming its efficacy. Yet, I can’t help but feel that it’s all a grand illusion. Scammers are likely to chuckle if you dare mention TPS to them!

I received a call from a lady claiming to represent some agency regarding outdated insulation in my attic, suggesting it might be causing issues that need checking out. However, upon discovering that the number traces back to Dartford while I reside in Norwich, I began to doubt her legitimacy. In hindsight, I ought to have requested my address from her to verify her claims, but I didn’t think of it at the time. I simply expressed my lack of interest and promptly ended the call. I've since taken the step to block the number.
