I received a call from a gentleman with an Asian accent purporting to be from Carphone Warehouse. He was trying to tempt me with a deal on an iPhone 13 Pro for just £30 a month. However, as soon as I declined the offer with a simple “no, thank you,” he abruptly ended the call. Sounds suspicious, doesn’t it? Most likely some sort of scam.

As soon as I picked up the phone, they decided to end the call without saying a word. Quite baffling, really!

Ever since I posted an ad on Gumtree, I've been inundated with persistent cold calls and dodgy scams. It’s quite clear they’re lifting my number from my listing, especially since I’ve used a pseudonym there, and these callers greet me with that very name. It's a bit unnerving, to say the least!

I tried greeting them four times, but alas, there was no response whatsoever from their side. I made sure to leave a decent pause in between each hello.

I received a call from someone with an African accent claiming to be from an "energy" firm. They brought up a so-called lucky draw, which immediately raised my suspicions. I'm convinced it’s a complete scam!

A caller claimed to be from O2, promising me a 40% discount alongside a new iPhone. However, when I queried them about my personal details and requested my name, their response was rather rude – they told me to go and find a proper job! Quite unbelievable, really!

In the end, I just hung up, utterly baffled by the conversation.

Beware of a dodgy operation at Car Phone Warehouse! I saw an offer for a new iPhone for just £35, but then they hit me with a £250 deposit request. I was so baffled! Are they serious? I almost said, “Sure, here’s my long card number, expiry date, and the CVV too.” But instead, I politely told the bloke to go take a long walk off a short pier with his mum. What a bunch of crooks!
