Been getting calls from someone pretending to be Amazon, this is the third time today. Every time they say they're from Amazon, I just hang up because Amazon doesn't even have my landline number. Total scam.

Got a call from someone pretending to be Amazon, sounded like they had an Indian accent. They said I’d ordered a TV, which seemed fishy from the start. They were really convincing though, asking me to confirm an OTP and my email address. Then they tried to get my credit card info - nearly fell for it! If you get a call like this, make sure to change your Amazon password asap, because this person already knew a ton about my account!

Got a call about 1pm on the 29th of October, 2021. Some bloke claimed to be from Amazon's fraud team and asked if I’d purchased a Canon camera. I told him I'd ring Amazon myself to check, but he said if I waited it'd be too late to get my £800 back. Then he just ended the call.

I just had a rather unsettling phone call from someone purporting to be from Amazon. A female voice informed me of an unauthorised laptop purchase that supposedly required my consent. She mentioned sending me a code via text to verify that it was genuinely Amazon. Feeling dubious, I ended the call, only for her to ring me again. I confronted her about my suspicions of it being a scam, and she became quite irate before abruptly hanging up. Attempting to ring back, I was met with a constant engaged tone. I then reached out to the genuine Amazon customer service, and they clarified that they never initiate calls to customers unless it has been specifically requested through their website. So, my advice is: steer clear of answering or responding to any texts from such callers!

I found myself engrossed in a game on my phone when this number buzzed me. Honestly, it's all a bit dodgy. They’re definitely up to no good! Claiming to be from East London, yet it seems they’re actually hiding out in Scotland. Total con artists, if you ask me!

Absolute con artists! I attempted to reset my Amazon password and was prompted to enter an OTP for two-factor authentication. It seemed rather believable at first, but then they bizarrely asked for the code sent to my texts-definitely a warning sign!

I've gone ahead and reported this to Action Fraud UK.

I received a rather concerning call today claiming there was a £2000 transaction linked to my Amazon account originating from an IP address in Germany. I received a call inquiring whether I had bought a pair of Nike trainers from Australia the night before. Naturally, I denied having done so. Then they asked, "Could a relative have made that purchase?" I thought on my feet and replied, "Oh, absolutely! My Auntie Maud is quite fond of Nike and resides in Australia. She often uses my account, so that would make sense." The poor chap on the other end seemed utterly flummoxed, struggling to determine how to proceed with his pre-planned spiel. 😄
