Earlier today, I received a rather unexpected call on my home phone from a female technician claiming to be affiliated with Norton. She requested permission to access our computer, which we foolishly granted, under the pretence that she could assist us. She insisted that our device was lacking protection and that there was a virus threatening it, offering to remedy the situation. However, as the conversation unfolded, I decided to reach out to Norton directly to verify her credentials. To my utter dismay, it turned out she had no connection to the company at all! At that moment, I swiftly severed any communication with her. I was on the brink of falling victim to a scam!
