There was nothing but silence on the other end, so I just ended the call.

Got a call saying my internet was hacked and my info was being used all over the place. They told me to ring 0800 800 152, but that number is actually part of the scam. I called BT straight away on 1572 option 1 like they said, and they confirmed it was a scam. They advised me to just hang up straight away and report to them so they could sort it out. Quite scary but at least BT can take care of it.

seems like they’ve come up with a new trick to get people to pick up the phone if they see a ‘caller id’. the 0131 code is from edinburgh, so you’d assume it’s a local call, but trust me, it’s not. I reckon it’s a call centre from way down south, maybe somewhere near Baluchistan or around there!!

I received a call from someone claiming they'd send me an apparatus to connect to my phone, aimed at preventing pesky marketing and spam calls. I declined their offer, but they were rather abrupt and just cut the line on me. Quite rude, really!

He told me it was some sort of free phone service at first, but then out of nowhere he wanted my card info. When I said no way am I giving that, he suddenly started shouting.

Received a dodgy call purporting to be from Microsoft Support. Don’t get duped by it!
