Got this super annoying, weird voice on the other end so i just dropped the call after giving a cheeky little reply.

Got a call pretending to be BT Openreach, saying my internet was slow and asking me to check my speeds. It was just some scammer using a fake number to hide where they really were. I let him go on for a bit before telling him I don’t even use BT for internet. Unsurprisingly, he quickly hung up after that. I work in IT, and these scammers really grind my gears. They sound so sure of themselves but are just con artists. Honestly, I hope they get a taste of their own medicine and someone in their own family ends up caught out. It’s awful how much trouble it can cause. The internet’s amazing, but the amount of people who don’t care and just want to take advantage is rubbish. If you ever have a problem with your internet or bank, always ring the actual company yourself on a number you know is legit. If you get an unexpected call, there’s a good chance it’s a scam. And when you do call your provider, make sure the line’s properly free first, because some scammers hang up on you but keep the line open to pretend they’re the real company!
