It was clearly a scammer utilising a spoofed number to hide their real identity. I played along until he droned on about his so-called services, before I informed him that I actually have no internet with BT. Predictably, he hung up at that point. As someone who works in IT, I can't stand these tricksters. I truly wish misfortune upon them and hope they or someone close to them experiences firsthand the distress they inflict on others. The internet's fantastic, yet unfortunately, the digital realm is rife with such unscrupulous characters who couldn't care less about the havoc they wreak. If you're experiencing problems with your internet, banking, or anything else, always make the call yourself using a secure line. If you receive an unsolicited call, it's almost certainly a scam.
