THEY SAID THEY WERE FROM A FIRM CALLED IPSOS - I looked them up and got a feeling the real reason for the call, which THEY SAID was just a survey, was more shady. I THINK they were trying to get info for some dodgy purpose. Also HOW ARE THESE PEOPLE GETTING AND USING MY PERSONAL INFO ILLEGALLY? I’ve reported this to all the usual places - Action Fraud, ICO, TPS, and phishing teams will be in touch! Like others mentioned, maybe it’s a government body? Got called 14 times in just three days by this number, a really soft-spoken lady claiming she was doing a government survey about the cost of living crisis. She got proper annoyed when I didn’t answer her questions the way she wanted... She even asked me to repeat my National Insurance number three times! So this woman called me, speaking really softly - I had to ask her to speak louder. She claimed to be calling from London University about some Health care survey, but the number showed 0131, which is actually Edinburgh! It felt dodgy, especially as it was the 5th of June at 11:14 am, the Queen’s Jubilee day - which uni is even open on a Sunday? I just hung up when she started asking how old I am. Honestly, I’m so tired of these calls when all I want is some peace and quiet at home.

Mori IPSOS is a firm that collects info to make things better for us. I've taken part in quite a few surveys with them over the years, each lasting about 20 mins. They never ask for stuff like bank details or anything dodgy. They're just really keen to know how businesses deal with us, so they can provide honest feedback. Nothing to worry about here at all.

I asked them who they were, what the survey was about, what questions they planned to ask me, how they would use the results, and if they had gotten approval from an ethics committee. Then they just hung up on me.

They didnt leave any message, even if they’re genuine they really should know not to cold call like that; it just makes them look bad. The easiest way to cut down on these unwanted calls is to sign up for the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) - it’s free. Ive been on the list for ages, so if this caller’s legit, they’re clearly ignoring the rules. Best to just block and avoid them if possible!!!!!!!

I usually don’t pick up when I see a call from Edinburgh on a Sunday afternoon. If it was something important, they’d have dropped a voicemail. Since there’s no message and after seeing what others said here, I’ve just blocked the number.

01315614632 I was outside in the garden so I didn’t pick up this call. Used 1471 and saw the same number calling back. Checked it on here and honestly, if it’s really Ipsos Mori, it’s pretty annoying. They really shouldn’t be ringing people up on a Saturday afternoon like that! If it’s some other caller, they definitely need to be blocked - it’s just a pest at the best of times.
