9 yearsI received a rather absurd voicemail claiming it was urgent to reach my father, and they mentioned the mobile number they’d been attempting to call. Upon returning their call, I was kept waiting indefinitely before a woman with a strong accent finally picked up. I insisted they erase my number from their so-called call centre records, as it was evident to me this was a scam. She attempted to pry my name out of me, but I steadfastly declined and reiterated my request to have my number deleted. When I mentioned that my father had passed away many years ago, long before mobile phones were even a thing, she abruptly hung up on me.
