Got a call from 0131 516 2156 about some “accident”. They said they were from the roads transport authority. Hung up straight away and blocked the number. I’m already on the TPS list.

The past couple of calls said they were from Auto Assist, with the number showing as 0131 516- (insert office number). Same old rubbish about me being in a car accident. I’ve been getting these calls nonstop for months. Just block every call that comes from that number!

Got a call today from 'auto assist' about some supposed road accident blah blah, i asked the bloke on the phone some questions and he just got really rude and started swearing. Absolutely shocking. Better to just ignore these calls.

Like I said, no connection to Edinburgh at all. I picked up once and the line just dropped. They never bothered to ring back, so I blocked the number.

continued… my missus asked which insurer she’d been chatting to, and she just said ‘the third party one’, really vague and dodgy. when my wife said she hadn’t heard anything from her insurer and she wouldn’t talk on the phone unless she got written confirmation first, the woman just cut off the call. seems like a total scam, probably trying to either steal money or grab personal info.

My missus got a call from this number, a lady answered and gave her name (can't recall it now) saying she was from some kind of legal firm and was enquiring about an accident that happened within the last three years. She mentioned there was some money still unpaid. Funny enough, my wife did have an accident in that timeframe but everything was already settled between the insurance companies. contd.
