On 02/04/2025, a woman rang us saying something about loft insulation and energy saving tips. We wanted to know which company she was from and the reason for her call, but she wouldn’t give us a clear answer. When we told her to take our number off their list, she just cut the call. Seems to me like it might have been some kind of scam.

I’ve just had a rather suspicious call myself. They claimed to be from 3 Mobile, prattling on about potential savings. They wanted to know what I was currently paying. When I mentioned that I didn't recognise the number and that they ought to have that info on file, they abruptly ended the call. Quite dodgy if you ask me!

I received a call claiming to be from Vodafone's promotional department. When I mentioned that I'm not even a Vodafone customer, they had the audacity to ring me back after about 45 minutes, this time insisting they were representing the Three network! How amusing! 😂

I received a call from O2, informing me that my SIM card would be deactivated shortly unless I provided an email address to verify my identity. I found it rather odd, as I thought they should already have my details! The caller didn’t seem too pleased with my response and simply said, “Alright, have a lovely day,” before abruptly ending the call. Quite the experience, wasn’t it?

I just received a phone call from this number. Initially, they claimed to be representing O2, but then quickly backtracked, stating they were from a promotional firm offering a 50% discount. As soon as I questioned their legitimacy, they began talking over me and seemed to get quite agitated. Sounds like a dodgy scheme to me!

Received a call from this number, and each time I tried to end the conversation, they rang me back, curious as to why I hung up. I took a moment to search the number while the call was ongoing and discovered it’s a total scam. Best to steer clear and not share any personal info with them. The call was made from Edinburgh, too.

I had a rather peculiar call at 1:40 this afternoon from 01313817380. Initially, I picked it up under the impression it was a call I had been anticipating. However, it turned out to be someone purporting to represent a mobile phone provider. They were eager to inform me about a supposed £80 saving on my phone contract, which took me by surprise as I don’t actually have one. When I explained that I use a pay-as-you-go service, they then inquired about the make of my phone. I obliged, but then they posed some rather confusing question regarding my SIM card, which I simply couldn’t wrap my head around. In the end, I felt it best to just end the call.

I received a flurry of calls from this number, ringing me four times back-to-back. Naturally, I picked up the phone to see if there was some sort of urgent matter at hand. This wasn’t the first time I’d encountered this number, and I had my suspicions that it might be some sort of scam. After a brief pause, a chap on the other end finally responded. They claimed to be from O2 but I don't even use them. An older mate got a call saying they could lower his sim bill to £5, and somehow they tricked him into buying an iPhone. They said it was from Three, but when we went to the Three store, they had no record of it. Had to cancel his bank card and block all payments. The phone showed up and folks came round trying to collect it, but when we mentioned consumer protection and the police, they left without the phone. Proper dodgy situation.
