Had a call from some woman claiming to be an Energy Adviser. She was quite polite but couldn’t explain how she found my number, especially since I’m on the TPS list. She kept asking about my house and insulation, but when I asked the name of her company, she just cut me off straight away. Sounds fishy to me! Definitely a scam, I reckon.

Got a call from someone named Jo claiming she was an Energy advisor for my region. I asked if she worked for RCT Council, and she said yes. But when I told her I'd ring the council to check and asked if they could connect me to her, she just ended the call. This is the third time I’ve had calls like this from them.

SCAM ALERT: Got a call saying our loft insulation might be outdated and giving us breathing problems, then they tried to push a "free" survey supposedly from the Government to see if we needed new insulation. I told them the house is practically new so no checks needed, but they kept going on about how even new homes could be affected. I said straight away that I wasn’t buying it and they just hung up.

Got a call from some overly formal and kinda robotic person, who was trying way too hard with a dodgy accent. It felt super fake, both me and the person who answered thought it was dodgy straight away. They sounded way too full of themselves, like they thought they knew everythin, talkin’ about some fibreglass problem. But that’s rubbish, as our local council sorted out grants for energy savings ages ago, like over two decades back! These latecomers trying to push stuff without even knowing the history are just a bunch of arrogant salespeople, and honestly, they deserve a closer look.

I had a run-in with some scammers the other day, and honestly, they sounded so full of themselves. When I called them out about targeting older and vulnerable folks, they just got really smug. One of them actually told me, “You lot on your measly wages could barely manage a simple meal, but we’ll be hanging out in Miami soon, knocking back cocktails and feasting on lobster.” They bragged about cashing in big time and living it up despite everyone else struggling to pay bills. Called a while back by a company about loft insulation, they wanted to know what kind I had and tried to sell me a replacement. She rang a business line, and there was quite a pause each time she responded, so I asked where she was calling from. Then she repeated the whole “I’m Jo from your local energy company” spiel. At 4.37pm today, 15th Nov, I got a call from 0131 3815090, an Edinburgh code. There was this woman with a proper British accent claiming to be my local energy advisor. I told her I wasn’t interested and after a bit of that, I just hung up. Seems like a total scam to me, and I reckon it could be quite risky, especially for older folks. Definitely wouldn’t trust it.

Got a call just after noon today, around 12:23. A woman said she was my energy advisor. When I asked what company she was with, the line just cut off. She sounded almost identical to the woman who phoned me a few weeks back from a 0161 area code. Seems like she’s ringing lots of us. About thirty mins ago I got a call from a lady who told me my loft insulation was out of date and needed replacing at no cost. She asked about the kind of house I live in, and I said it’s a 3-bed semi. She mentioned she’d ring back to set up a visit. I’ll probably tell her I’m not interested for now. Cheers for confirming my gut feeling that it was a scam. The call seemed to come from Edinburgh, but there was something about Twilio Ireland too.
