It’s obvious this call originated from some foreign call centre pretending to represent O2. They certainly aren’t affiliated with the real O2, and when I confronted them about it, they promptly hung up on me. Definitely a scam, without a doubt!

Got a call out of the blue, but when I picked up there was nobody there on the other end.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with Three, offering to cut my monthly bill down to £12. They asked me how much I was paying at the moment. I told them, isn’t that info already on your system? But they insisted I needed to say it. Since my bill is only about £8, I’m pretty sure this was a total scam.

Got a call from someone saying they were from O2 with a deal. Told them I’m not even an O2 customer and she just ended the call right after.

I picked up my phone since the caller ID showed an Edinburgh number. A man with an Asian accent claimed he was calling from EE. When I asked what he wanted, he said there was a special deal just for me on the newest iPhone. I’d seen those TV shows about these sorts of scams, so I just yelled “SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!” and then ended the call. Watch out for this sort of thing!

The call quality was shockingly poor - all crackles and hardly distinguishable sounds. Normally, a UK call should be crystal clear, but this had the feel of an overseas line being redirected. Quite intriguing, to say the least!

BLOODY SCAM - JUST HANG UP AND BLOCK THEM! The person claimed to be ringing from O2, insisting that my account was behind because my bank information was wrong, saying I’d rack up penalty fees if I didn’t provide new details IMMEDIATELY. What a load of rubbish! I settled my bill days ago, everything's sorted, and the direct debit is in order, with no payments due until next month. Complete nonsense!

The caller had an accent that struck me as Indian and inquired about my current monthly payment. I ended up terminating the conversation, as it seemed rather improbable that a legitimate service provider wouldn't already have access to such information in their records.

I've had a couple of calls from this number, and when I tried to get in touch from another line, a recorded message popped up, offering me the chance to add my digits to a Do Not Contact list. I pressed 9, as instructed, yet the same monotonous message just looped back again and again. Reading through the comments here, it seems quite clear these are likely scammers at work.
