Somebody called me claiming to be from Nectar, but the person on the phone had such a strong Indian accent that I struggled to understand them. They said I'd won a place in some prize draw or something.

At first there was just silence, then a click and a voice with a strong Asian accent claimed to be from Vodafone. I ended the call straight away and reported it. Pretty clear it was a scam.

She had a really thick Indian accent, and I couldn’t quite catch what spot she said she was calling from. I don’t reckon it was actually Edinburgh though.

The moment I picked up, this robotic voice just said bye and hung up - definitely one of those spam calls.

I received a rather dubious call from a firm claiming I was owed more than £300 from a previous transaction with them, as their online support was shutting down. They mentioned I had forked out over £400 back in 2018 and insisted they required my new credit card details for the refund, citing that my original card was no longer valid. However, when I probed a bit deeper with my questions, they simply hung up. Quite fishy, if you ask me!
