Got a call from someone claiming to be 02, saying I had to update my plan. I told them no way, especially since ever since I switched to 02, my phone has been compromised. All my passwords on various accounts got swapped and now I’m locked out of my email too. Proper frustrating!

Missed the call so I looked up the number. At first, nothing showed up except a similar one - 0131 381 3881 - which had a bunch of bad reviews from yesterday. Checked it again today and saw a couple more folks have looked it up too... Seems like it's the same scam going around!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Uber Eats saying the restaurant’s tablet had to be updated to a newer software version. They tried to get the passcode for the restaurant’s account, which sounded dodgy. It all seemed pretty legit at first, but I checked with Uber Eats myself and they said it was definitely a scam. They mentioned they would never ask for that info over the phone, so watch out for this one!

Got a call not long ago from someone saying they were O2. I told them I'm not an O2 customer and ended the call. I’m really pleased I looked them up on this site first - they sound like scammers since they seem to pretend to be loads of different firms.

I picked up and said “Hi?” then there was a pause for a couple of seconds... then the line went dead, but I could hear some mumbling and noise in the background. A lady answered, definitely not Scottish - sounded Indian and the connection was terrible. She said “Hi?” too, but I just ended the call. Honestly, if you want to reach me for real business, India, you’ve really got to sort out these scammers first.

Got a call claiming to be from Vodaphone with an offer for a phone upgrade discount. They asked what phone I currently had. I told them if they really were Vodaphone, they’d already know and told them to remove my number. Definitely no Scottish accent, sounded like typical Indian scammers to me.

Half an hour ago, I got a call from 01313813122 as well.

The sound was really bad, and there was a lady speaking with a strong foreign accent who was mumbling about her company calling for some reason. When I told her I couldn’t catch what she was saying because of the poor microphone, she just didn’t get what I meant. I usually only get official calls or notifications from places I have accounts or bills with through email, so I’m pretty sure this was a scam.
