Got three calls from different Scottish numbers today. None of them actually have anything to do with Scotland, and I don’t know anyone there either. Pretty sure its a scam.

I ignored the call since I dont know anyone in Edinburgh, and my phone flagged it as a scam too, which I double checked on this site. Usually I just let calls from unfamiliar or dodgy numbers go to voicemail, cos if you hang up on them they might realise your number is active and end up selling it.

Definitely SCAMMERS claiming to be from my network provider (bit of a lucky guess). So he tries to sell me the newest iPhone with EVERYTHING UNLIMITED for just £13 a month! Yeah, right. I messaged him through while chatting, cos at least he wasn't ripping off elderly people or folk with dementia at that moment. Then I caught him out with a simple question: I asked what my last bill was. Took him ages to answer then he said "it was £13". My bill's nowhere near £6, so I hung up on him after giving him a piece of my mind. These people are the worst. Watch out!

A family member of mine got a ring from this number while he was away from his phone, lucky for him. If he’d answered, he probably would have told them off quite harshly without thinking, which might have just let the scammers know the number’s active.

Claimed to be Harry from Amazon, but his grasp of English left a bit to be desired. He launched into a breathless spiel about an order I supposedly just made worth several hundred quid... Well, adieu to you, Harry the con artist! I've blocked the number!

Got a call from this same number claiming to be EE, offering to cut my mobile bill down. They asked how much I was paying already, so I told them if they were legit EE, they’d already know that. I made up answers to their questions while sneaking a quick Google search of their number on my other phone. Told them flat out I knew they were scammers and hung up, then blocked the number on both my phones. Definitely stay clear and block these lot.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent, his English was a bit off. Claimed to be from EE and asked which network I use. Then he wanted to know if I had a Samsung phone. I just ended the call and blocked the number. I picked up because I was waiting for a crucial call. Such annoying time wasting scammers!

Got three calls from them today saying they can slash my phone bill by 40%, even tho I’m already on the cheapest O2 plan. Total scam, no doubt. They talk in really bad, hard-to-understand Indian English. First time I said nicely I’m not interested, second time I told them to stop calling, but by the third call I lost my patience and was rude. This is my work phone too, so they’re just wasting my time while I’m waiting on proper calls. They also switch up the last digit of the number they call from. Proper scammers.

I wasted around 5 minutes chatting with these scammy Indians pretending to be from O2, which they definitely aren’t. They promised huge discounts that O2 would never offer! Got through to 3 different Indian callers, all with proper English names (bit funny). The second one wants my email, I told him I don’t have one - he sounded shocked and then passed me on. The next guy claimed to be from Barclays and asked for my bank name. I said Coutts instead, he asked if that was Barclays, I said no, then he said hold on and shortly after the call got disconnected. Classic scam!

I got a call from a woman telling me about some Vodafone deal they had going on. She then passed me over to her manager, and he started telling me I could get an iPhone 15 for free and forget about the contract on my Samsung. He said I’d be paying for the iPhone instead, and I could do whatever I liked with my Samsung, even sell it if I wanted. I ended up giving him my name and address. While still on the phone, I looked up the number online and realised straight away it was a scam.

I got a call from some guy in India using a VOIP, so you couldn't track the call.
