It seems I’ve been on the receiving end of one of those irritating cold calls. I reckon they must be dialling scores of numbers simultaneously through some fancy tech, waiting for a lucky few to pick up. When I answered, the line was utterly silent, just a void of noise, and then, poof, the call dropped. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were just scooping up numbers for some dodgy marketing scheme or worse. Quite the nuisance, really!
