4 yearsI received a call from someone who seemed to know a surprising amount about me, even my full name, which they used directly. They claimed I had been approved for a £3500 loan I had applied for at some point. It’s clear to me now that this was definitely a scam!5 yearsGot a call from Vodafone regarding my upgrade today.Vodafone5 yearsGot a really sophisticated call from 01313670211 the other day. The woman on the line had every detail about me down pat - things like my bank details, credit cards, and even a recent loan I’d applied for, all accurate. She sounded like she was from the loan company, so at first, I believed it since I had just asked for £300. After confirming all my info, she handed me over to some ‘advisor’ dude who told me I’d be paying £55 a month for 8 months, but £25 of that went to a funeral scheme. Then he said they'd ring back soon to sort it out and told me not to mention anything about the loan, saying it was for my family. I played along, said something cheesy like “you’re very clever, thank you, sir.” So about 5 minutes later, I get another call from someone else about the funeral plan. I keep them on the line for a bit, then I just couldn’t hold it in anymore and said, “This sounds like a pretty elaborate con, doesn’t it?” The guy chuckled, asked if it was a family thing, I joked “Yeah, my brother’s involved.” Then a voice came on saying, “Hang up, everything’s recorded, thank you!” Why is it that most of these scams seem to come from Indian call centres? Seems like they're handling a lot of telemarketing calls across Britain. I’m tempted to put this whole story on YouTube to warn others, but for now, just watch out, folks!UKYouTube5 yearsThey called me a few times this week but never left a voicemail. Just leave me alone.6 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be from Vodafone in Edinburgh. They rang from a landline and started asking for my pin details right away. It was during lockdown too, so I didn’t even bother trying to explain - just ended the call straight away. No way I was giving away any info, especially since I just got a new contract not long ago. Bit of a cheeky attempt if you ask me. âšī¸VodafoneEdinburghNice6 yearsGot a call from a number that seemed to be connected to Vodafone.VodafoneSubmit Your Own Report (0131 236 2904)
