4 yearsI received a call from someone who seemed to know a surprising amount about me, even my full name, which they used directly. They claimed I had been approved for a £3500 loan I had applied for at some point. It’s clear to me now that this was definitely a scam!5 yearsI recently had a chat with Vodafone regarding my upgrade options.Vodafone5 yearsWhat an intricate and rather unsettling call that turned out to be! The caller had seemingly intimate knowledge of my personal details, including my bank accounts, credit cards, and various loan applications. It all began when I received a call from the number 01313670211, and I was led to believe the woman on the other end was from a loan provider, as I had recently sought a loan of £300. They reeled off all my information with ease and then transferred me to someone who pretended to be an advisor. To my surprise, after much back and forth, I was told I'd need to pay £55 monthly for eight months, with £25 of that going towards a funeral plan they promised would be set up shortly. Curiously, they didn’t mention the loan during the conversation-oh no, it was all about family considerations, naturally. "You're quite astute, Mr," they said, to which I merely replied, “Thank you.” Fast forward five minutes, and I find myself on the line with yet another chap about this so-called funeral plan. I kept up the charade for a while until I couldn’t resist any longer. I pointed out, "This all seems a tad too contrived, doesn’t it?" and to my astonishment, he burst out laughing. Is it a family business of sorts? I jested, leading him to disclose it was something about his brother, right before a voice in the background insisted I hang up. All of this, mind you, was recorded-what fun! Isn’t it fascinating how many of these scams appear to originate from Indian call centres? It seems they’re quite the go-to for telemarketing across the UK. I’m tempted to post this experience on YouTube-honestly, folks should be forewarned about these antics!UKYouTube5 yearsReceived a couple of calls from this number during the week, but no voicemail was ever dropped. Quite frankly, they can just jog on!6 yearsReceived a call that seemed to be from a Vodafone representative in Edinburgh. Since the call came from a landline and they were asking for PINs and personal details during lockdown, I had to cut them off straight away. Absolutely not worth the gamble, especially considering I've just signed a new contract! Nice attempt though! 😊VodafoneEdinburghNice6 yearsThis caller appears to be associated with Vodafone.VodafoneSubmit Your Own Report (0131 236 2904)
