I put a short message on their voicemail, then spotted no one was home and quickly hung up.

Got a call from this number but TrueCall stopped it from coming through properly - no voicemail or anything. Cheers to WCM, have blocked it now. Cambridgeshire, 21/04/26 at 14:16.

Looks like spam to me, didn’t pick up. Saw it marked as spam here, so I guess I wasn’t wrong.

Got a robocall earlier about windows and doors - sounded like a total scam, just a recorded voice too.

Didn’t get any voicemail, so I’m guessing it’s some kind of scam. After seeing what others have said here, I’m definitely putting this number on the block list.

No point in picking up 01312312300, it's just a complete waste of time.

This number rang me earlier today and even though I answered, I kept quiet. I’ve read about a dodgy trick where the person on the other end asks straight away, “Can you hear me?” They want to catch you saying “Yes,” so they can record it and supposedly use it to get into your bank account if your bank checks voice IDs. This caller’s voice was super clear, way too clear actually, so I stayed silent and ended the call right away.

They said there’s a free check-up for our solar panels but then just dropped the call without saying anythin.

I got a call from a guy with an AI voice asking "Are you there?". I said yes, and then immediately heard the usual fib, "This is David from Windows and Doors..." I cut him off with a quick "Leave me alone," and after a short silence, the AI actually said thanks for my time and hung up. The number looked dodgy anyway, so I've blocked it already.

On the 14th of April 2026, my landline rang from 0131 231 2300. I answered with a simple “Hello” twice, then the person on the other end asked, “Can you hear me?” I asked who was calling, and they said “David.” I hung up straight away since I’ve heard that name in scam calls before. When I dialled 1471 afterwards, it said “Number not recognised.” This was clearly a scam attempt.

Got a call from an 0131 number the other day, and it kicked off with "can you hear me?" If you pick up, they just keep going and talking over you without really giving you a chance to get a word in. Felt like some sort of AI just reading from a script cos none of my questions got answered. Ended up blocking the number.

Got a call at 5.24pm from an unknown number, didn’t pick up since I’m on the Telephone Preference Service anyway. Didn’t bother leaving a voicemail, so defo seemed like spam.

I didn't pick up since the number looked strange. After ringing about 8 times, they just hung up.

My phone went off and when I picked up, some bloke with a super posh English accent asked straight away, “Can you hear me alright?” It was all glitchy and crackling in the background with the line cutting in and out. From what I’ve seen online, these scammers try to get you to talk so they can record your voice for dodgy reasons. I just stayed quiet and let the silence do its thing. Eventually, the line settled and went back to normal. I always make sure the call has actually ended before hanging up, just in case.

Got a call from this number about some energy deal, and the person was really pushy when I said I wasn’t interested. Just a heads up to be careful and maybe report it if you get the same.

I've been getting loads of calls from this same number on my landline, even though I've signed up to the TPS. They don't bother to leave a message either, just keep ringing over and over. Looks like it's from some energy provider, number’s 01312312300. All I can do is keep blocking them!

Got a call from a number I didn't recognise, something like 01312312300, must be from Edinburgh or somewhere in Scotland. Didn’t say anything or ask who it was, just ended the call straight away. It was a landline too.

Got a call from some bloke named James who claimed to be an energy advisor. The number looked Edinburgh based, but we live in the East Midlands. No matter what I said, he just talked right over me and didn’t listen at all. Felt like proper harassment. Reported him to the ICO.

Keep getting these dodgy energy calls that never quit. This one was some bloke called James claiming to be an energy expert for my neighbourhood. I asked him straight up for my postcode and he just wouldn’t answer, instead rabbiting on about loft insulation and some government scheme. After asking again a couple of times with no reply, I just told him to shove off and blocked the number. Nothing but a pesky robot wasting my time.

Dodgy call again! This time the bloke said his name was James but usually it’s some woman named Jo ringing me up. He alleges he’s ringing from the government but couldn’t even be bothered to learn my name. Told him straight up to quit phoning me because he’s a scammer and I won’t be handing over a single penny. Didn’t stop him though, he just kept droning on with his scripted nonsense. Even when I told him to bugger off, he carried on blabbering. Scammer through and through!

They said they were from some energy saving firm but sounded totally like a robot. When I told them I’m not the house owner, the bloke just went on and on, not letting me get a word in. So I ended the call. They've been ringing me non stop. Usually I ignore it, but today I thought I’d have a bit of fun and mess about with them.

Got another call from some bloke claiming to be an Energy advisor. The dodgy caller uses all sorts of numbers from all over the UK but can’t even be bothered to pick one near where I live! I've seen him ring me from loads of different numbers, and not one had an area code from my area. Don’t be fooled, he ain’t no local Energy advisor, just a proper scammer. Steer clear of him at all costs.

We don’t normally pick up calls from unknown numbers, so the answerphone did instead. I caught a voice asking if I was the owner, but they clearly hadn’t actually listened to the message because it was obvious we just let it go to voicemail. They ended the call pretty quickly. Best to just ignore these.

Got a call from someone saying they were my energy advisor nearby. I actually got a similar call just a couple of weeks back, but from another phone number. It sounded like a robot or one of those recorded messages cos it just kept going on even when I tried to ask stuff. Definitely seems dodgy to me.

I had a really frustrating call from someone about loft insulation - they just wouldn’t let me get a word in and kept interrupting me all the time.

Got a voicemail that sounded like a real person but it was just a recorded sales pitch for replacement windows. Proper annoying!

The bloke sounded proper English, not like those dodgy Asian scam calls I usually get. He mentioned something about loft insulation, but I didn’t catch his name. I just hung up straight away. Then, funny enough, he rang me again right after, but this time I just ignored it.

Got a call from someone pretending to be a local energy specialist, trying to pitch their services. I’m registered with the TPS to block these types of calls, so was annoyed to get this. When I questioned them, they clearly didn’t know anything about the area or whereabouts they were supposedly from. Definitely a scam!

Got four calls in just two days, all from different parts of the UK. They all kick off with the same line, something like “can you hear me alright?” If you say anything back, they go on “hello, it’s James, your local energy advisor…” The voice sounds exactly the same every time and seems to follow the same script, no matter what you say. Feels like it might be a bot or some kind of pre-recorded message. Best advice: don’t answer when they ask if you can hear them.

Just got a call again from R.Soles & Co. If I needed windows or doors i’d reach out to a proper company myself, not wait around for some random caller like this to ring me up.

Got a call on my home phone early today from an unknown number. I ended the call straight away because I didn’t know who it was. Looks like just another scam to me, and blocking won’t help much since they just switch to different numbers all the time. It’s really worrying because my husband is in the early stages of dementia, and I’m scared about what might happen if he picks up the phone by mistake!

Beware, these window and door people are just rip-offs. Seriously, they could just rename themselves “Scams and Even More Scams” and it’d be spot on...

Got a call from a guy called ‘David’, sounded nice enough. He was trying to sell windows and doors. I told him nicely that I'm not interested and ended the call. Honestly, if you’re after this kind of thing, best to go with a local business you can trust rather than national firms or cold callers like this.

I picked up and there was this weird silence for a bit, like it was a robotic call centre. Then some pre-recorded message started playing and they just cut off the call right after. Classic cold call rubbish.
