When I checked the number on Watcha, it showed up linked to some car accident scam. Pretty sure it’s one of those call centre rubbish. Blocked it straight away.

Got a call from some folks pretending to be from an insurance firm, but it was clearly a scam. Beware of these dodgy calls.

Got a call about an insurance claim, saying I was part of a road traffic accident from over eight years ago. They kept pushing that my car had been fixed, but I told them I usually cycle and that the bike was the one wrecked. Fingers crossed these sorts of calls stop now that I’ve signed up my phone with the TPS - it’s free and I’d say everyone should give it a go.

They couldn’t say where or when it supposedly happened though. They did know my name and suggested maybe a family member was on my insurance but hadn’t told me. Got a call supposedly from some car insurance thing about a crash I wasn’t involved in. As soon as I picked up, the person asked “Can you hear me?” my advice? Don’t just say yes! If they record you saying yes, they might claim you gave permission to act for you. Instead, try replying with a question yourself like “Who’s this?” or “Can you repeat that?” to avoid giving them any leverage.

Got a call about a car crash I was involved in around a year and a half ago. They actually knew my name and mentioned they had my file right there. I didn’t quite get the name of the company, it seemed like it was something like TA or similar. The caller and the voices I could hear in the background definitely sounded like they were from an Indian call centre.
