A few days back, I received a rather peculiar call from a woman with a strong accent, probably not local. She claimed to have information regarding an accident I was supposedly involved in, and she was keen to know whether I'd received any compensation. To my surprise, she even suggested that she could 'double' whatever I had already obtained. Quite bizarre, especially since I’ve never been in an accident! After doing a bit of digging, it seems this is part of a long-running scam that's been making the rounds for ages. How utterly odd!

Had this same call a couple times today, both warning me my internet would be cut off in 24 hours if I didn’t hit 1 to talk to a “technical engineer”. Actually got a few of these calls during the week too. Obviously never pressed the button and surprise, no interruption in service. 100% a scam trying to scare you.
