Got a call from someone claiming to be Virgin Media, saying they could help boost my broadband speed. They asked for remote access to my PC, which made me suspicious straight away. The call came through my Virgin landline and the person had an Indian or Pakistani sounding accent. They tried to convince me by quoting my customer number, but there was always a slight pause before they answered - felt like it was an overseas connection. Seemed pretty believable though. I just ended the call quickly. Might just keep them on the line next time to mess around a bit if I've got some free time.

I got a call from someone with an Indian accent saying my computer was slow or something like that. I told him nicely I didn’t know who he was and that my computer was fine, then ended the call. Pretty sure it was a total scam.

In just 5 minutes, I got two calls. The first was some guy named Richard Williams from Nottingham, who chatted about god or something - I don’t buy it because I’m not religious. Then, a bloke called Neil rang me and hung up right away when I asked if he could help me out with a small favour. Both said they were from Virgin Media tech support, but honestly, they're both scammers. Proper rude as well.
