Got a call from this number claiming to be Visa Security, saying there were two charges on my card - one £300 from Amazon and another £1100 from something called Western Credit. They told me to press 1 if I wanted to report it as fraud. I just ended the call. Honestly, it’s mad we’re supposed to press a button to report fraud to people who are clearly trying to scam us. What a crazy world!

Got a call on my landline from this number, missed it and they left a voicemail but it was just a bunch of different voices all talking over each other like from a call centre. I hardly ever use my home phone, and I don't give that number out to anyone. Doesn’t seem like BT or anything official. Feels like someone might be trading private info or something sketchy. I’ve blocked the number now.

I picked up and they started talking about life insurance, but the name and address they gave just didn’t sit right with me - felt like a total scam. I told them I was broke and that my husband handles the bills, and that’s when they just cut me off.

I wasn’t home when I got a voicemail from a bloke speaking with an Aussie accent, repeating “Lou? Lou? Lou?” over and over. That’s pretty unusual for the typical Microsoft scammers I’ve heard. Feels like this might actually be the true owner of that number, and possibly those scammers somehow swiped the number from him.

Got a ring from this number around 2.05pm on the 10th of May, 2022. I’ve got my phone set to block most calls except the ones from people I know, so it didn’t even buzz, just popped up as a missed call later. I'm absolutely convinced it's high time we put an end to companies peddling phone number databases. They should face serious legal consequences for any breaches! I've recently had to switch my landline number due to the incessant barrage of scam calls I've been receiving. It's bewildering, really, as my number is ex-directory and I've only shared it with a handful of trusted people, family included. I have a feeling this was a bit dodgy. A lady phoned up saying she was from Microsoft, and she appeared to have my computer’s licence number, claiming my laptop had been hacked. I explained I couldn’t do anything about it as my charger was missing and the battery was completely flat. She insisted that if I didn’t verify it soon, I'd need to head to their office in Reading within three days-like that’s ever going to happen!
